Correction: ." It is the spokeman of the God kingdom who is speaking.
If christians have got it all wrong and there is no life after death, then when they die they are no worse off than you or any other non-believer.
If you have got it wrong there could be a terribly harsh price to pay upon your death, while believers would have eternal bliss.
I don't like your risk to reward ratio so much.
BTW ~ If I were somehow able to know that you faced an afterlife full of pain and misery I would not laugh at all.

And once again another christian who thinks that the only two choices are christianity and atheism.
What if you chose the wrong god? What if you were supposed to be worshipping the Hindu gods, or scientology?
Your gamble is terrible. Your odds are worse. And you have the nerve to talk about risk / reward? I leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
"Live a good life.
If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by.
If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them.
If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."

Rostos already gave you an answer in post 659 and you still are talking about the Hindus...lol
Rostos said to you, "First of all, Zeus has been debunked by historical scholars. So we can rule him out.
Only in Christianity are there accurately filled prophecies of a coming Messiah (Jesus), Only in Christianity do we have the extremely accurate transmissiom of the eye witness documents (gospels) so we can trust what was originally written. Only in Christianity do we have the person of Christ who claimed to be God and performed many miracles to prove his claim of divinity, who died and rose from the dead, and who said he alone was the way, the truth and the life. All this adds to the legitimacy of Christianity above all religions - all based on the person Jesus.
IEither Jesus is true and all other religions are false, or other religions are true and Jesus is false. There are no other options. I choose to follow the risen Lord Jesus."
So when are you going to be satified with an answer?... Probably never because your existence in how you see yourself is a fluke an accident, it just couldn't have been created by God.

I wasn't ignoring your post, I was watching the Preakness Stakes. Shackelford won it thanks to the wisdom and guidance of Jesus.
As for me, I never participate in these religous threads due to complete ambivilance. I truly do not care what others believe or don't believe in. I do consider myself a christian although I don't belong to any organized religion and never attend church. I checked out this thread out of curiosity due to the fastly approaching 6 pm alledged rapture. I was struck by the bitterness towards people of faith. Why are non-believers such as yourself so bothered by what other people choose to believe in? That's the part that i just don't get.
And how are my odds worse than somebody that believes in nothing?

Top_Cat, excellent post, and appreciate the time invested in its construction. Concur to your approach and its perception is encouraging. Would be interested in reading your written paper on reality. Enjoyed reading a post on the topic that was not debated like politics after 28 pages and it still being in kindergarten.
Though, at least Stephen Hawking's nebulous set of theories, which cannot be confirmed through observational data, were NOT used to prove that it absolutely establishes that an infinite number of diverse universes exist, having been created from laws of physics that just happen to allow this in an atheists universe, "no gods required' approach.
But is true that God cannot be both almighty and good if you restrict Him to our level (three dimensions of space and one dimension of time). However, when one does, this God is not the God of reality or Christianity, since both the bible and science would indicate that God must exist in more than three dimensions of space and one dimension of time. The bible says the universe cannot contain God, indicating He must exist and operate in dimensions of space and time other than those to which we are confined. The bible also says God created time and was acting before time began, confirming that God exists in at least two dimensions of time. A single dimension of time (a line) has a beginning point and can only travel in one direction. Two dimensions of time (a plane) has no beginning or ending so that a being existing in such a plane would be free to move to any point along any line of time within that plane.
Both of these descriptions of God are confirmed by what we know from science. According to particle physics and relativity, at least nine dimensions of space existed at the creation of the universe. God must be able to operate in all of those nine dimensions in order to have created the universe. A verse from the book of Hebrews indicates God created the universe out of some of the dimensions of space and time which are not visible to us. Stephen Hawking, George Ellis, and Roger Penrose extended equations for general relativity to include space and time. Not only space, but also time has a beginning - at the moment of creation. Therefore, if God created the universe, He was acting before the creation of time, indicating He exists in at least two dimensions of time. If God existed in only one dimension of time, then He would have had to have been created at one point. The bible says God was not created, but has existed from eternity past to eternity future.
The universe cannot replace God as explanation for its own existence. The universe is finite in both size and time. The uni had a begining in finite time at the moment of the big bang. How did this universe decide to create itself? How did the universe design itself with physical laws and parameters exactly fine tuned to support life? The laws of physics are designed with such precision that it is almost inconceivable that they could be the result of chance. Producing the "long shots" come in is not scientific.

I wholeheartedly agree with your arguments here.

I cant wait for the rapture.
I get to wake up and every christian is gone in one fell swoop?
Now that would make me believe in heaven on earth.

Let me just say very frankly anyone who doesn't accept Jesus Christ as our Lord Savior and who continually lives a sinful life shall be judged by the Lord Almighty.
Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said, "Not everyone who calls out to me, "Lord! Lord! will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, "Lord! Lord! We prophesized in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name. But I will reply, I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God's laws." ---Matthew 7:21-23

Since all christians know so much about what it takes to get in to heaven - some questions about heaven:
1. If a child dies, does he grow up in heaven?
2. If you die when you are 100, are you the personality of the 100 year old, or when you were 16?
3. If you get to heaven, and someone is there who likes you but you dont like, can you avoid him?
4. Where is the "spirit" of a baby who is going to be born 10 years from now? Are all of these spirits living somewhere now waiting for a body? If something cant come from nothing (we had that proven by Rostos and SJD in this thread!), then where do spirits come from?
Lets start with those. I have so many more too. I want to know if this heaven is a place I want to be. If I have to spend eternity with Rostos and SJD, I dont think heaven is the place for me - but if we can work out the details - I might get on board with this heaven thing.
Thanks

-29-, quotes, as in the Marcus Aurelius, "Live a Good Life" are in the image of writing ones own ticket to the afterlife. The Packer's had to know the rules of the game to win the superbowl. Though, if one wants to catch themselves running around poetry or words, I'm sure to go to heaven because I've served my time in hell.
KittyKatz, Signing out to catch a game. Untill next time, then will "fine-tune" a reply at you.

If by the grace of God we meet in heaven someday I would be over joyed with happiness to see you brother vanzack.
The Lord Savior Jesus Christ said, "You must love the Lord God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neigbor as yourself. The entire law of all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments." ---Matthew 22:37-40

And BTW - this is my problem in question #3.
I know you will be overjoyed to see me, but I would hate to be stuck somewhere with you for 5 minutes, much less eternity. The question wasnt whether heaven for YOU is seeing ME (obvious), the questions was more along the lines of:
If I have to spend eternity with you, it must be hell.
Try to solve that connundrum.
Thanks. I want to get on board with this heaven deal, but I need some conditions first - and the first negotiation we need to get out of the way is that I have a safe getaway from you and Rostos, or the deal is off.
