It's funny how the majority of law abiding citizens would not bat an eye to waive certain rights (as in this case) to do what ever is necessary to save lives and combat terrorism.  That said, as in this thread, the majority with a criminal past immediately whine as they have done here.

Hey Broke, we cherish our rights here and don't give them away because our corrupt government continues to erode them. If these killers were always homegrown then we may be more tolerant but since we import these problems, we're not wiling to give up our freedoms. How about they stop allowing the throwbacks into the country? The San Bernardino maniacs should've been easily identified and stopped but after the bomb goes off dear gov places the focus on a phone?

It seems everyday we learn of the government spying on some level on people that haven't been accused of crimes. That's intolerable to many of us.

Well said and I support your comments.  That said, I have little doubt you would do what it takes to assist.  If the phone lead to more intelligence and possible arrests post bombing it would make sense to explore it and close every possible avenue that might unveil evidence or prevent further crime.
