Why get involved with such a loser in the 1st place? Messier, it seems like this could have easily been avoided (by simply ignoring/avoiding this kid). BUT you made the biggest mistake, you got involved with a deadbeat and lost. You should just pay him and get it out of the way...then it's over, done with. I mean it sounds like it's not that much money to you so who cares?

Sounds like you've already decided not to pay him and are trying to get justification from the forum.

I'll state it for the 10th time in the thread that if you know a guy is a deadbeat, there is no point in betting money you can never collect. You should never have let him do double or nothing. How many times were you going to let him bet you fake money to break even?

When you take the bet, you become the bookie. You think a book would ever say I won't pay you your winnings for the week because I found out you're broke?

With that said, if you never plan on associating with this deadbeat again I don't see a point in paying him. Especially since you already told him off and made him feel bad.

So he goes and borows 3k "show money" and you would pay him? You state that you don't think he has the money so what is the point of you telling him to show you money and then you will pay him? If he borrows it to show you will just justify that he didn't have the money and needed to borrow it in which case he can claim that he was going to borrow to pay you anyway. You clearly don't want to pay him so why ask a question if you don't want to take the advice?

Just keep going double or nothing with him til you win and its even, He owes you a couple times at least since you gave him a chance to win his money back.

    Hope you learned a lesson

    Topic: Should I pay?

Overwhelming response: If the kids money was bad you shouldn't have taken the bets. You agreed to the bets. You lost. He won. Pay him.

You: I totally disagree with you guys.

Then why the f*ck ask? He's probably down a bunch to someone and counting on that money from you.

"If you lie to me, I won't pay you," was never established before the bets were made. You gave him credit. Your fault. Suck it up.

Then why the f*ck ask? He's probably down a bunch to someone and counting on that money from you.

he lied about winning 3k off his bookie who cut him off. he told me he would use that money to pay me if he lost. He was down 800 at one point and I was skeptical of seeing a dime. He promised and promised he had won that money and could pay on tues. He won 3 straight and I end up owing him. I also find out he was lying whole time about winning the 3k from the other bookie and is fflat broke. Maybe you guys are cool with letting people lie to you and free roll you with no intention of paying if they lost but im not. To pay off the the other bookie he had to beg his parents for 4k and they cut him off forever after that. My biggest mistake was even dealing with this degenerate.

After more begging by him I caved and said id take his action for this one week only as a compromise. I'll pay him whatever he wins. if he loses I told him I'll call his parents and do whatever it takes to guilt him into paying if in fact he cannot. Let the free roll for him continue i guess.....

why does he even want to go through you?? you haven't paid him. Why does he think you will this time???

You 100 % should have paid him. Had he lost .You still would have been looking to get paid from him.You would have been chasing him. Even if he lied to you about winning 3k.. its none of your business how he comes up with it.. And if he couldn't come up with it then he goes on a payment plan with you.. That's the chance you tool for accepting the action. You are in the wrong

Yeah, either he wins and you don't pay or you win and he doesn't pay. This is monopoly money to both of you. Why are you even dealing with someone who has to go to his parents for money? I don't know your age but this is kid shitt. Sad you guys both need action so bad that it doesn't even matter that neither of you guys won't pay or get paid.

he lost 4k to the other local bookie and had to have his parents bail him out. I'm his only option at action i guess is why he wants to go thru me. I'm not even a bookie. He just asks me about what I'm betting occassionally and sends me everyone of his 100$ 4 team parlays each sunday that always lose

ya but i made him promise that he'd be able to pay next day and he said ya that was no problem. I reiterated this 5 times and he said yes each time. The next day when I found out he never won 3k off his bookie based on a hunch i followed up on I started to doubt his honesty. Who knows maybe he lied about that but had other funds he could pay me with. I told him i caught him in a lie about winning off the other bookie and if he wanted the money i owe him bring the money you promised you'd be able to pay me if you lost. Fack, If im him I borrow money from anyone even if I dont have it and bring it to the meet to collect my money. The fact that he can't even do that leaves me with little sympathy..
