Anyone who thinks that sports and racing will be back by June is nuts. What happens when say baseball starts in May or June and a player or fan tests positive, the sport will be shut again if that happens. My view is that the virus will be around for at least 6 months or more causing the baseball season to be cancelled and the NBA and NHL never too resume until the new season in both leagues start in October.

Totally disagree. We will have sports pro sports this year, probably sooner rather than later. The media has spooked too many people and it's ridiculous. There are ways to get around this. Once one league starts then the rest will fall in line.

Sure it will be around but that doesn't mean pro sports should or will cancel their seasons. I just don't see it that way at all. Baseball will probably have a shortened season. The NBA can continue their season and perhaps have a shortened season next year. NFL will be fine but not sure about college football.

Let me ask everyone here :" will you be willing to stay in your home for the next three months?" if the answer is no then how can the virus abate if we are all out and around. The only people getting tested right now are in big cities do you think people in N & S Dakota and Wyoming and Alaska will be tested? And since there is no Vaccine for the virus for at least a year it will be around like the flu that kills 10k people every year in the USA. Do you notice that the Feds never set a timeline when we will be back to normal because if they were honest it will be sometime in October and not before. The American people will revolt if that is the timeline. The next shoe to drop is a run on the banks. Many banks are already closing and you must go too drive through windows to do business.

Its very simple yet the American people are incapable of it...stay home for 3 weeks...every single person...and there you go, the spread theoretically should cease...the infected go get their treatments, and within a month life should have resumed somewhat back to normal.
But the Americans (and Canadians too) are just not willing to put others before themselves...just look at all the 1000s of future bums partying in Florida this past week...completely oblivious to their own social responsibility to help slow down the rate of infection.
Taiwan did well to stop the spread because the people were all mandated to stay home or face going to jail if caught outside.
Sports are such a low priority at the moment, all those billionaire owners and millionaire bench warmers will all be ok after this timeout, lets not worry about leagues starting up just to have a reason to lose your money gambling on it...for many, this is a last chance to get a grip on their finances and quit bleeding your life away to obvious gambling addictions.
I find it ironic that covers switches format permanently, and then this avalanche hits not even a week later...thats a seven duece offsuit if ive ever seen one
