Do they exist? Have a 200.00 rolling a stopsign ticket to deal with.
Don't want to do traffic school (w/work, no way, no time) and will pay one of these guys the extra money to clean it off my record. No idea where to find one or if this is even possible.
Thanks.

I wouldn't waste the $$ on a lawyer. If you haven't had a ticket in 15 years I highly doubt you'll get traffic school added on as a punishment. If for some reason it is, just show up to the court date, tell the judge you're not disputing the ticket, but don't think you should have to go to traffic school.
As for the record, once again, if you haven't had a ticket for 15 years having a ticket on your record shouldn't do anything - most traffic tickets clear after 5 years or so.
I received a ticket when I was 16 for going 28 mph over. Didn't dispute anything, just pleaded guilty and sent in my fine. Judge reduced the suspension of my license that he could have justifiably given me. Wasn't even instructed to go to traffic school, but my mother made me....

Im not a fan of cops, but what does u not having a ticket in 15 years have to do w/ u rolling a stop sign in 2012?
Most cops take a look at your record before handing out a ticket. If it's such a minor offense, sometimes a cop will just let you off with a warning....it's really hit or miss depending on the cop you get and the mood they're in.

Traffic school isn't a court sanctioned punishment. It is a way to keep the ticket off your record for insurance purposes. If Search went to traffic school, the point charged for this violation would be scrubbed, and his insurance rate would not be threatened.
Call me meathead, I have an idea.

Plead NOT GUILTY. Go to court and deal with the prosecutor yourself. Bring a copy of your perfect driving record. DO NOT call the cop a liar. Say something like, "I'm sure he's an honest and good cop, but he was definitely having a bad day." Explain that your driving is your livelihood and you must fight to keep your record spotless. Offer to make a sizable contribution to a charity of the court's choice in exchange to nollie the charge. All prosecutors have favorite charities such as the D.A.R.E. program and they would rather see funds flowing there instead of being wasted in the State's general fund. GL Ricky.

I dont know what state you are in, But 17 years ago I got a traffic ticket.
I had a buddy who was a sergeant, He said Im gonna give you a early Christmas Present.
He said Send a money order for 10 dollars more than what the ticket is for.
The city will then send you a check for 10 dollars
He said, DONT CASH IT Rip it up and Throw it away
3 to 6 months later, They will send you another check, SAME THING TOSS IT.
See, they cant contact your insurrance ageny or DMV unless the case is closed, Because they have your money, they cannot issue a bench warrant, and because you havent closed the account by cashing the check, they cant forward it.
I did it, it worked Did I mention it was 17 years ago? I dont know it it will work where you are from or I dont even know if it will work in CA anymore, but it did work for me.

Contact the prosecutors office.... if you have a blank record you will probably be able to plead down to a violation that doesn't carry points. You will pay a higher fine...but won't have the points on your record

Where are you from? In Nevada they're on every corner it's hard to miss. My wife takes advantage of that service atleast 4 times a year and everything is dropped to a parking ticket. There are a few of them are free and most are in the $50 range.
I always thought this was the case everywhere, but in my short stays in Ohio and California I found out that wasn't the case. I'm sure they will advertise in whereever you're located or look in the yellow pages.

I know here in Houston I got a letter from a lawyer a couple days after my ticket. I called them and and paid them 75 bones. Had to show up in court about a month later and when the lawyer called my name he said "dismissed."

Correct.
Stated it poorly, but was basically trying to say if I was Search and haven't had a ticket in 15 years, I wouldn't worry about my insurance rates increasing...

They can be very effective. I know someone who had a speeding ticket and went to one of those ticket fixer places and they charged her $50. They said they'd contact her when the case was settled.
A few months later she got a letter saying it was reduced to a parking ticket. No points, no insurance notification, no court appearance no traffic school, no hassle. The parking ticket was $75. She sent the ticket buster place the $75 and they took care of the rest.
bill702- Has your wife ever given any thought of trying to become a better driver?

Traffic School is like participating in a real life episode of Welcome Back Kotter _ It's not a huge time commitment and you get a first hand look at some of the underbelly of society.

Do women ever think when it comes to driving? Between the women and Asian drivers in this city I don't know how I haven't been in an accident in my 10+ years of driving.
