Burgess Meredith in "Obsolete Man" best episode. Claude Akins and Shatner also were great in the show.

Honorable Mention for best episode goes to the gambler who never stops winning episode and the family leaving for planet Earth to escape nuclear war on their planet. Be mindful the episode aired circa Bay of Pigs and all.

I never saw this episode but I heard it is one of the most famous about the aliens and the cookbook.

I also liked the line on Seinfeld when Jerry was having trouble with something and he said "This is like that episode of the Twilight Zone where the guy wakes up and he's the same but everyone else is different."....

George: "What episode was that?"

Jerry: "Well, I guess every episode was like that."

canovsp- Vincent Price was the voice of the alien in that episode called "To Serve Man". Indeed one of the best episodes.

I am a big fan of this show . Twilight Zone was on for 5 seasons and most of them are great.( The 4th season they stretched the shows to 1 hour long episodes and it did not work. The shows were too drawn out.) But the half hour ones are mostly well done. The amount of great actors on this show is staggering. Practically at least 1 actor from any other TV show at the time was on Twilight Zone at some point.
That one episode where the girl has bandages over her face in the hospital the entire episode scared the crap out of me when I was little.
And I love the one with the 3 National Guardsmen are on tank maneuvers around Little Big Horn and they end up in the middle of the original battle.

Runnin&#x27;, that episode with the woman in bandages is called Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder. Maybe one of the greatest climactic scenes in TV history.That scene is right here: Link

Mark, what is your source for Vincent Price being the voice of an alien on the episode "To Serve Man"?

I don't believe that is correct. He's not listed as a credit on the IMDb of that page, nor is he listed as a credit, or mentioned at all for that episode, in Marc Scott Zicree's wonderful book, "The Twilight Zone Companion. I'm a big fan of Vincent Price AND of the Twilight Zone, and I've never heard that.

The highly refined voice of Joseph Ruskin was dubbed? for Richard Kiel in that episode.

One of my many favorite eps is "The Silence." This guy makes a bet to win a large sum of money that he won't say a single word for a whole year. And after a year he wins the bet... but the guy who lost the bet can't pay up! He has no money! Only then do we discover how the first guy was able to win the bet... he had his vocal cords removed!

I never saw one episode until the marathon yesterday when I caught a bunch.

I cracked up at the dude in the intro lighting up on camera.

Of all the episodes I saw "When the Sky opened up" was definitely my favorite. I really didn't like the obsolete man.

Both actors Klugman &amp; Shatner are in quite a few of the Twilight Zone episodes..   Funny to see William Shatner as a 20-something back in the late-1950s....early-1960s..

truly classic in black and white. Shatner on an airliner with a creature on the wing outside. Submarine episode was great. A man and his android mate on a desolate planet and he had to choose to leave her behind or not.
I believe in the movie remake, someone actually was killed duiing filming. I am thinking Vic Morrow maybe.

Sterling had a great way of delivering his morality lessons: Like in Eye of the Beholder, the politician (or is it a TV talking head/commentator) on the large TV screen in the hall (very futuristic) exclaiming the need for a "single purpose, a single norm, a single approach, a single entity of people, a single virtue, a single morality...we must cut off all that is different....."&#xD;&#xA;Kind of reminds me some things on TV today.
