You hit it on the head with the following mentality...I never had much of a relationship with my family growing up, so I was that guy that let the media/entertainment world tell me how to think and feel thinking  "that's just how the world is." So, from experience, I know how easily a person can be manipulated without even realizing it.

The follower mentality is funny....  How many people do you know bought a blackberry and then got rid of it because everyone had bluetooth....then they dumped that for an iphone, then dumped that for a newer iphone.  They were probably all perfectly fine with many more capabilities than anyone needed except for the fact that they weren't cool anymore.

Each generation complains about the last one.  There's a huge difference now though.  Kids used to express their feelings about love, peace, sex and getting high.  "If it feels good do it"  and "give peace a chance"

Today kids glamorize violence "pop a cap in yo azz" and prostitution "pimpin' da ho's"

Today I carry a 9mm 24/7.  20 years ago it rarely left its case.
