Wow what a day. I lost money on my option however I'm happy with the result. At work everyone was bitching about Trump winning and their 401k's going down the tubes. And we finished way up. I truly believe everyone will be pleasantly surprised at how Trump does during the next 4 years. I have never seen so many sad and depressed and angry people before in my life. Here in Chicago, it was like the cubs went to game 7 and we had a 10 run lead with 2 outs and blew the lead. That is what it was like today. Chicago is ultra blue so no surprise there. But this is a day I will never forget. Lets hope Trump does well. Like him or hate him, route for success.
Sounds similar to my day Jeff except I'm in Newark. Very few of us non-Democrats here. All complaining and I just sit back and bite my tongue. The world has come to an end for 75% of my co-workers.
I was watching Sportscenter and it was hilarious how all of these athletes are crying foul now that Trump will be the man come January.
Boo-hoo! The ignorance is tremendous and are blind to see that the Democratic Party has set blacks back years. They do not do them any favors except keeping them poor, dependent and their vote.

Bond yields really moving up, super fast, the USD firming up very quickly yet the stock market is up..
I dont follow this logic at all as a strong currency weakens exports and higher yields really hurt borrowing and holdings in existing treasuries which MANY MANY banks and pension funds are holding and are leveraged as well..
Many times the market behaves in a way that does not make sense to me, this for sure is one of those times.

I dont follow this logic at all as a strong currency weakens exports and higher yields really hurt borrowing and holdings in existing treasuries which MANY MANY banks and pension funds are holding and are leveraged as well..
Many times the market behaves in a way that does not make sense to me, this for sure is one of those times.
WSC, your thoughts on Junk Bonds right now? I've owned VWEHX for quite some time. It appreciated in value over the years but I love the monthly interest income payments.

Absolutely not...
Junk bonds funds are way overvalued if you think that the 5% coupon is awesome, look at how it dropped 20% in the past when yields went up..that is 4 yrs of yield!
Junk bonds are crappy rated bonds, keep that in mind and make sure you are ok with that risk. I dont consider the risk vs reward worth it with yields starting to move and the paltry return it gives.
