Set to launch if weather remains favorable
Before NASA can send astronauts back to the moon, it needs a successful test flight of the Space Launch System, a giant rocket built for the agency with lunar missions in mind. On Monday, we’ll get to see the first attempt at launching this massive rocket to orbit, this time with no astronauts aboard the Orion capsule it will send to space.
Here’s what you need to know about the mission, Artemis I.
When is the launch and how can I watch it?
The launch, from Kennedy Space Center in Florida, is scheduled for 8:33 a.m. Eastern time, but in case of unfavorable weather or technical glitches, the liftoff can be pushed back as much as two hours, to 10:33 a.m.
NASA Television’s online coverage of the Artemis I launch begins at midnight at the start of Monday as the process of filling the rocket’s giant propellant tanks starts. The agency’s full coverage will begin at 6:30 a.m. Monday.

Colonizing implies citizenry and I don't think that will happen. But the moon becoming a location for elongated business trips is what will happen for those conducting searches of propellant minerals on the moon such as water and helium 3, which the moon has an abundant source of.
Project Artemis was proposed many years ago and NASA has moved up its plans as our understanding of how to tap the properties of rare earth minerals has given rise to ever increasing expansion of technological uses which has further reduced the time window on when we could actually begin to 'terraform' the moon in a business colonization such that it could become a launchpad for Mars exploration and potential habitation, and/or space mining of asteroids to supply greater amounts or REEs to expand technological advances exponentially. Its kind of a IF THEN, type of series of propositions in steps.
Step one is utilizing the moon for other steps!

There are plans to create a primitive early atmosphere that would interact with the geography of mars and the solar system in such a way that it could develop over time, a protective layer that could eventually provide safety for habitation and the re-organization of simple living things on the planet > *if that is what happened before it lost its atmosphere*

Interesting concept....transplant our carbon issue ONTO MARS increasing their cooling issue haha.....like everything, its all about chemistry, moving energy around via natural thermodynamics and stimulating a carbon cycle to push life forms to appear with the right cocktail mix that would allow for life to flourish and multiply
Sounds complex?
Well, its happened on earth, and could happen there as long as chemicals could be added or mars chemicals tapped in the right proportion

Colonization of mars is indeed achievable.
But on surface is not an option.
Their plans to dig down to a source of water and build a city beneath the surface
Primary source for the income of such endeavor? Mining rare elements such as helium and lithium.....
But we are on a verge of having earthling born and bred on external planets.....
I am sure a study is being arranged of becoming pregnant in space and the effects on a developing fetus....

Seeing that Mars has a 687 Earth day year with seasons that are much more variable than earth. What type of calendar would colonists use or for that fact how would they tell what time it is ? I would imagine it would be similar to being on a outposts we have in Antarctica, But much worse and take a world record of hutzpah to go there!

The Astrobiology Graduate Conference (AbGradCon) is a conference run by graduate students for early career scientists who study the complex and diverse topics that the astrobiology field encompasses. The goal of AbGradCon2023 is to disseminate astrobiological knowledge conducted by these early career researchers to the astrobiology community and the general public. AbGradCon2023 will mark the 20th anniversary of the unparalleled conference that has continued to grow in interest and participation since its inception. The conference will target ~100 participants ranging from graduate students to early career postdocs (within two years of completing their doctoral degree) from both the US and abroad.
Applications are due by March 15th.
