Seen a lot of threads about "what is your favorite/most profitable sport to bet on" so I figured I'd throw one out in the reverse -- what is the sport that you are the biggest long term loser at?
For me it's no question -- NFL, hands down. Only one sport causes me to deviate from my money management practice, and that's the NFL. I can't help it. I always seem to lose my "big bets" in the NFL and cash the little ones. Very, very frustrating, and its almost to the point where I'm thinking about blacklisting the sport to prevent future problems.
What about everyone else?

Cricket. I played it once on a drunk bet because I liked the name and will never do that again. Therefore, since I have no chance at ever making my money back that is definately #1. In all seriousness though NBA is my worst. BOL!

For the life of me I can't figure that shit out. I think there is just too many games. I think last year I started playing just a little bit...dabbling if you will...and I had a 6-25 record or something.

See everyone talks about how the NBA is their toughest sport, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be mine. I dunno why though? I've followed the NBA very closely this year and taken a long-term marathon betting approach to it and I'm hitting 53% since the beginning of the year (eeking out a profit because I get reduced juice). I know that lots of goofy things happen, but for the life of me can't understand how people win in the NFL.

Kap I do okay in the NFL (close to 55 to 58 percent each year, this year being worst than last year) but I do this because for whatever reason I do a damn good job with teasers. Case in point yesterday I thought CHI had a good chance to win outright but I knew they would not get blown out at home (just given McCarty's conservative nature and CHI being at home). Now I didn't anticipate Cutler and his issues, but such is life. So I took CHI +3.5 straight for 2 units; CHI +10.5 with NYJ +10.5 for 2 units; CHI 15.5, CHI u 56, NYJ +15.5 & NYJ u 51 for 2 units. Was hoping for that last CHI score so that I could win by CHI +3.5 bet but all in all not bad. I then hedge with buying a half a point with PIT -3 for 6 units. All in all a good day. BOL!

In other words I might not always be right with picking the spread but with the safety net of teasers I usually come pretty close. It is because of the teasers that I do okay.

MLB is my worst sport, Might just blindly pick someone to tail next year. I can't ever seem to win money on it. I like sports with point spreads, like basketball and football.

Soccer is tough... but "ties"... better known as a "draw" in the sporting lingo... are a great way to make some cash being used in a parlay. Always getting +200 or better

The thing about the NBA that nobody can cap is the final 1 min of the game. I have seen teams down by 10 start fouling at the 40 second mark Ive also seen team down by 10 just dribble out the clock and not even attemp a shot.
The one that use to burn me the most is a team down by 6 with under 24 seconds left decide to go for the easy layups instead of attempting three's. So its layup foul layup foul layup foul. I dont fucking understanding the reasoning.
Oh ya I only bet the NBA once in a blue moon and its usually 1 teams total points over or under.

CBB for me. Since my time is limited, I try to focus on a couple of conferences, but they tend to be popular ones where the lines are tighter. And that doesn't help. And when I've tried to expand my options a bit, I've gotten whacked. I do normally fair pretty well in the tournament.
NFL has given me trouble the last couple of years.
Baseball and the NBA are probably my top 2. CFB third.

If a team sucks at free throws, the other team will usually go with this strategy to get it down to a 2 point deficit rather than 3 or 4. It sucks for sure. The way I look at it is, if it's that close at the end of the game where a free throw here or there affects your bet, you shouldn't have bet on that game. Either way, it's bound to happen sometimes.
