Too many other random variables.  Like atmosphere.

When I think of Seafood it's Lobster for me. 

Here in CT I'll give you two choices.

You want to have the best freshest Lobster in a summer outdoor picnic atmosphere with reasonable pricing you go to Abbott's at the mouth of the Mystic River and Long Island Sound.  https://abbottslobster.com/

You want an indoor upscale restaurant you go to Foxwoods Casino on Monday night (Lobster Night) at David Burke Prime Steakhouse.  https://www.davidburkeprime.com/  They have the most impressive Wine Cellar (It's actually a circular glass tower) that I ever remember seeing in my lifetime.

And if anybody can offer a wine selection that goes perfectly with buttered Lobster I will be forever grateful.  The ONLY alcoholic beverage I ever found to stomach with Lobster is Champagne.  I have tried countless white wines and they all sukk when paired with Lobster.

Joe's Stone Crab....South Beach, and Las Vegas, if you've been there, you know what I mean, if you haven't, and love the delights of 'Stone-Crab' check it out the next time your in Miami (south beach) or at Caesars Palace Gallery of shops and restaurants LV

I am a big fan of the Oceanaire. There's one here in Dallas and I think there another couple around the country. The fish just seems to be incredibly fresh they have a creative menu. But the main point for me is the quality of the ingredients. I have eaten there frequently and not been disappointed with whatever I tried.

I heard they changed the name but it's the best Dungeness crab cakes Ive had....... great salmon dishes as well.

Growing up in Louisiana there are as many seafood/creole restaurants as there are McDonalds. And most of them are 1 star or 2 star when it comes to price but 4 star and 5 star when it comes to quality. Sure there are the big time restaurants like K Paul's (RIP) and Commander's Palace that are great but if you go into the suburbs of New Orleans you will only pay a half or third of the price of the big boys.

There are to many to name.

I never ate there or met him but I know plenty of people who did and they all said he was a great guy.

I ate there decades ago. Had never even heard of Cajun food. Didn't get to meet him, but had the Blackened Redfish----truly a revelation.

The Dead Lobster, at least around here, is mediocre at best.   The Virginia Spots at the Hyholde Restaurant were always my favorite...but I haven't been there in a while.   The Lobster Bisque and the Sherry Bisque were great, too.  A new owner or a new chef comes in and things change.

If you're ever in Baltimore, the Black Olive is the best restaurant in town.  I've been to restaurants in Vegas where they charge $80 + for Dover Sole, which IMO does not compete with a fresh piece of Maryland rockfish, (striped bass)

a hole in the wall place in monterey, had a piece of skate, so fresh, never eaten something so good, one of those places where you bring your own bottle and u pay a corkage fee, shame these mom and pop places are being replaced by commercial crap like red lobster and the like

To many to name

Last there, we tried a few local places outside of the Quarter. Jacques-Imo's and a few others.

For more mainstream ( in the French Quarter) I was actually a fan of Galatoire's and Mr. B's. Their BBQ shrimp is off the hook.

Personally, local seafood bars and oyster bars are the way to go experience the best seafood.

A few of the better ones:

Sunnyside Oyster Bar in Williamston, NC. Old School Southern dive.

Pearlz Oyster Bar in Charleston SC. Another cool spot there is Leon's Fine Poultry and Oysters. Little hipster, but good. Grilled oysters.

Tadich Grill in San Fran.

Really want to get a chance to get to Maine for local Lobster rolls.

I like Jonnathon's in Conway nh. Prices are reasonable. it isn't an elegant but more rustic approach, seafood is fresh. it offers quick service and is a friend ly atmosphere there I like the place.

Baltimore is a war zone right now but I recommend Nick's Oyster located near the Inner Harbor.  Pricey but great seafood.  Their chefs earn their money. 

Check it out if you are ever on the East Coast.

Homicide is at an all-time rate in that great city man. 

Even though the riots are over, violence is still rampant.  The media is not reporting it.
