And no, not what you tell your buddies when you're trying to sandbag, but what is your REAL golf handicap?
 
I was an 11 until a few years ago. Playing less, now I'm a 13.

11.7 index for me.  short game is my weakness, i just don't play enough.  i have a smooth swing and i have great ball striking abilities.  285+ off the tee.  Last year i decided to be less aggressive off of the tee, because i'd hit a drive 285 on a 350 yard par four, then all of a sudden i was left with a short game second shot.  i am way better at a full swing pw or 9 iron.  so off the tee on a 350, i would play a 4 iron about 200 and then have a full swing from the 150 yard mark.  this plan knocked about 5 shots off my handicap.  if i played more, i'd have more finesse with the shorter shots, but i don't, so i play to my strengths.

 `12 when i basically quit 10yrs ago. I think I could still break 90. My son was all american in college.

about the same as me, i agree fully, great short iron game but bad-mediocre short game, fortunately putting and driving are stellar.

i was scratch in high school, played varsity 1 all four years but went to college on fball scholly over golf.

now im a 1.5, shot 70 2 weeks ago and then 78 sunday

Meaning i can still shoot under 90 after 18 beers.   One per hole is pretty damn good in my book.  I'm also widely regarded as one of the best cart drivers in my club.

Used to have a 12 playing about 3 rounds per week. The last few years I've only been able to get out 2 or 3 times/ year yet I still shoot low to mid 80's. Makes NO freakin' sense at all.

I got as low as a 2 point something before kids ten years ago, slowly on the rise since I don't get out as much as I used to.

2...Last time I shot for handicap purposes...
 
Play in alot of scrambles now at the club so its hard to tell..Actually that is all I play right now ( for the last year or so )... I did play at a pretty easy public course last week and shot PAR for the course but alot of people have low scores at this course...I doubled the first hole and settled down after that...
 
Love golf and now its better because my 3yr old has got a new set of clubs and we go play alot...This is his 2nd set of JR GOLF clubs and he is loving it.. I would give up playing with the buds just to play with him... It almost brings tears to my eyes when I see him hit the ball and putt on the green.. He actually drained a 3 ft putt the other day.... He loves golf and he hits in the backyard everyday...

My temper.

I've never in my life walked off any golf course without thoughts of showering my car down with gasoline and watching it explode in the parking lot.
