"Best Superhero movie" would be black dynamite except he's not super he's DYNAMITE; and not hero, but just a man with insane amount of integrity, power, and charisma.
Its why he will never be put in a movie w/ batman, superman, etc..they don't stand a chance because he is smarter than all them. He will quickly discover their weakness and exploit it..then finish them off with nunchucks or a dragon punch to the sternum... something like that...

I am debating seeing it, but I am just so sick of all these X-Man and Marva l Comics movies. Over-saturation is killing both franchises. What more can they tell in the story?

Do you have to have seen the previous X Men movies to know what the heck is going on? Or is it a completely separate storyline?
To the above
I have seen them all but honestly, this could be your first movie of the whole series and you will not miss a beat. It's that well done and that 'independent' thematically. Entertainment-wise, it's a grand slam.

@mighties - if some of the idiots in this thread would just suspend their prejudice against comics (which I don't and never have read by the way, X-Men or any other) they'd enjoy it too. It's the best movie of the year.

I don't know Scal, I've seen all the XMen related movies and was totally unimpressed by this one.
Of course people want to see a story line attached to the movie however the single biggest part of X-Men is the development of the characters and use of their abilities. This movie clearly lacked that given the "going back in time" theme.
Single best part of this movie was the introduction of Quicksilver (Peter Maximoff) in getting Magneto out of jail. After that bit, this movie went completely downhill and you knew how this was gonna end very early on.
What horrible ways to introduce Bishop, Blink, Sunspot, Warpath, etc. I could go on but this movie isn't even worth more of a review. They totally blew it.

Saw it Sunday and thought it was good. I guess if you read the comics as a kid it might have seemed a little lack luster but that maybe just be me, former comic book nerd.

@king @hutch- I'm not judging it based off the comics. I really have no idea who those characters you named are.
I'm just saying that I suggest seeing it whether a comic book fan or not. Of course comic book fans will nit-pick. But as a plain and simple movie to see on a Friday night, it is VERY entertaining.

Personally, I thought it was the best one. I'm big on reunions and stuff like that so everyone coming back was cool to me.
I agree with KingRGIII because I didn't know any of those characters and until he just mentioned them, I didn't know their names. But I'm fine with that because I'm just a fan of the movies and I never read the comics either.
