This is spot on, also, being a good actor doesn't suck either.  That's where team play can really help.  You have the big player that is doing the drunk act, not needing to count while the other players give them signals on how to play.  But again where everyone on my teams are counters that really is not needed.  Alhtough this past weekend we did do that a few times.

It's amazing on what you can get away with when you have a 21 year old female playing on the team.  You can play all sorts of scenarios.  At one point she had about 10 drinks lined up.

Is there a best number of players (hands) at table to count with?

How much of an increase or decrease in your table buyin do you wait for before you cash out?

Less people the better.  That means more hands per hour, which means hitting the long run sooner, which means more profit sooner.

My target is doubling what we bring to the table.  But the key is to not play steaming, stick to the plan and do not deviate at all.  I see way too many counters get caught up in the game and will go off course with the size of wagers and such.

Sometimes you just gotta get up and walk.  That's the hardest thing to do sometimes.

im just wondering cause last night i had my first large loss, i had played for about three hours and was up about 1/4 of my buyin i wanted to get it to 1/2.

once i started playing one handed against the dealer i lost all my winnings and 3/4 my buyin in about an hour, i was still following all my count betting rules, just want your input.

its easy to look back and say i should have walked away, still kicking myself today

all i can tell anyone who would like to be a so called "skilled player" is you only get from it what you put into it! after being called a dinosaur(thaks lippsman)i could assure you i spent more time practicing then sleeping over the last two decades.due to percentages i did not proceed with mr lawrence reveres 5 count strategy, but lowered my standards to ustons three count.i can count 8 decks down in less than 2 minutes(you will never have to do that at a casino) i have been so dedicated i would go to sleep listening to headphones brain washing me about the game of blackjack(i would suggest everyone to save thier money on this idea)although i personally believe that a count with an ace adjustment factor rules over all, it is better to perfect an easier system, than to make mistakes with more complex systems,now its up to you, how much time are you willing to put in?mr lippsman have you ever tried shuffle tracking?

With what potvin just said is exactly why I tell new players to use the KO count.  No true count conversion. No seperate ace count.

Now of course the count I use is a level 3 count and I do a side cound of aces.  But when I learned the counts thats what we used.  But there were not mostly 6 and 8 deck games.  You could find single deck dealt down over half and tons of double deck games.

With the advances in computing power we now know that the betting strategy is much more important then the count strategy.  That's why you see a good deal of unbalanced counts.  Hell even Uston was on the cutting edge of it with his SS count.

I do play alone a good bit and when I am head to head with the dealer no way would I just play one hand.  When no one else is at the table you play as many hands as you can.  If for some reason I got drilled a couple times in a row I would take one hand down.  Change the flow of the cards.

I used to do shuffle tracking, but with the 6 and 8 deck games now it's pretty much useless.  With the double deck and even 4 deck games I was able to use it pretty well. Also with these damn shuffle machines that are used there is no reason to even worrry about it.

Once again, even with all the decades I have been playing blackjack and to this day I use a level 3 count. Well most of the time.  I 100% say to use KO.  But I also say to use the REKO strategy with it.  Makes even more simple to use if you can believe that.

I just found out today that Norm Wattenberger has his chapter on the REKO online.  So here you go.....If you decide to use KO then you have to use this with it.

Hey but I did love playing in the House of Blues BJ tables.  Man I had a nice little dealer named Jenifer.  Wow !!!!!!  Blond that was busting out of that outfit.

Yeah, the single decks were horrible.  I will be damned if I ever play a game that pays back 2-1 on a BJ.
