race 6: 1 - PRIVY COUNCIL. Horse hasn't raced in over a year, but in Todd we trust. Could be Javy's free cherry of the day returning to this one. Last time he had a long layoff he improved over 40 beyer points, so back to what he's bred for in this 6f sprint and if ready to rock, could just be too good for a field full of firsters, many who might be looking for turf. Chad horses and the 6 obviously the threats if the 1 needs one. Watch if heavy steam anywhere and try to get info on firsters.
race 7: 6 - SHADOW RIDER/ 7 - ARE WE NOT MEN. Broke horribly when trying a higher level, and this is my best shot to go against the 7 who is clearly the most likely winner. I just hate taking favorites like this in the claiming ranks. Rudy and Irad going for 3 in a row and not much in here, although there are plenty off claim or two off claim which makes it tricky cause of potential form/running style changes. I think the three works since last and extra 1/2f should improve his form which has been solid since coming on dirt. My method of thinking is essentially a procss of elimination: I dont trust claiming off Linda Rice and winning, so that kills the 1 and 8. The 2 and 3 look a bit out-classed and out of form. The 4,5,6 are all taking somewhat desperate plunges in class with poor recent form. And that leaves the 7, who also has a nice tactical advantage looking to sit off the 1 on the front end.
race 8: 1 - AWESOME SONG. Love Lynch taking the blinkers off here and Javy picking up the ride. I think this horse is steadily improving and now we hit third start off long layoff with new trainer, and I think he can sit a nice forward trip maybe a bit more relaxed with the blinkers off and have more punch late. Doesn't need the lead but if Javy feels that's best then its a possibility, especially with not much early foot signed on. Most likely sitting forward and saving ground. I'm gonna take a stand against the favorites here and trust they need one off their respected layoffs. Vagabond missed his start in Keeneland due to a foot issue, and War Queen also had a minor setback. Penjade is back for her first start this year so maybe she isn't her tightest today. My second choice and must use in exotics and sequences is the 5 SCHEME. He was troubled in last just when making his move, and couldve needed that off the 3 month layoff. That race to me is very strong and he could prove to have a class edge over this field if improved.
race 9: 5 - DOUBLE DOSE. Jacobson off the claim looks to be live here going back to turf. Like how he worked three times and also beyer fig down cause of slow fractions in last where he won very convincingly and looks to be in sharp form. Should be forwardly placed not far off the lead and provide a nice price in this tricky turf sprint. Play the favorite FIVE HEARTS defensively as he looks well meant and towers over the field beyer figure wise, and also the 7 off the claim.
