Today was no where near as good, let alone profitable but it does not prevent me from reporting the results. Main's had three winners, nothing worth mentioning (price wise). Contenders/Others had one winner, $28.80. These championship races are extremely difficult because, literally, any horse is capable and qualified of winning. The track was playing fair for all styles of racing and most avoided the rail down the stretch (as if it was dead/deeper/slower).
While today was a "big day", to me it was just another day for horse racing. I wager over 325 days a year, yes, I know, I'm hooked on it but I always stick to my budget (money management) which keeps me in the game. Some days are profitable, others not but I enjoy it and will continue with it.
Couple things that impressed me from today:
1. Kenneth McPeek announcing Thorpedo Anna will be racing next year. If she stays healthy/injury free, she could go down as one of the best fillies ever. Enjoy this one while you can, most likely she's only going to race five or six more times before going to the breeding shed.
2. Flavian Pray for getting multiple wins today in back to back races. No jockey, this Breeders Cup accomplished this feat.
3. City of Troy had issues during the race, nothing out of the ordinary to get the other disqualified just enough to be a pest and take him out of his rhythm. Three year olds aren't always ready for those tactics. By the time that was over he was to far behind to make up the distance and dropped into a gallop (instead of race mode). His footing was secure/stable. He was beaten by better horses today. I look forward to his next race.
Hope your day was more successful than mine.
Time to update the data points/stats and put the away until needed for next years Cup.
