Good advice Parlay Queen and welcome
so many things to consider
For example ,the Wood Memorial having one of the slowest times
but the winner IWC having the top beyer of all the preps.
Let me see if you agree with me on this.
The Derby has now been won by three favorites in a row which prior to that was unheard of.
Do you believe its because of the new point system which I believe was structured to keep the sprinters from getting a chance to compete in the Derby ,thereby keeping a much more honest pace?
I believe its much more a hindrance now for a longshot to compete.
Do you think thats the way the race will be run again this year , or is there enough speed to let horses like Lee and Sonneteer or another deep closer make a run for it.

Some good points, Parlay
Now, I think Malagacy and Battalion Runner being out changes tactics. Cheap speed (if there is such a thing in the Kentucky Derby with today's breeding) kight dictate pace, which means that we might see a closer, Gunnevera or Lookinn' At Lucky, flying.
However, there are so many good ones with tactical stalking ability that can hold speed, like Classic Empire, Irish War Cry and Always Dreaming....throw in Gormley, that this race is an even greater handicapper's challenge than usual....in a race that has always been a handicapper's challenge.
