Florida Derby Day

We have an early 11:30  post time tomorrow. Look for the jock changes that will result because Castellano & Prado are off a couple of live mounts. Pletcher has a couple of horses who need a jock. Two (#4 & #6) scratched out of the last race which is the Florida Derby. #13 Rogue Element gets in as a maiden for Dale Romans/Calumet. This one got caught at the wire last time out @ 116-1 with Gafflione up. Miguel Vasquez is up tomorrow.

I have 2 long shots I'm looking at. I think it's a good tough card. This I believe is the last big paycheck for racing folks. The first 2 races are really tough IMO.  I'm sure I'll make a double play but I think too many have a chance & have to eliminate some.

Race 3 I like #3 Largent; he got beat by a head as chalk by a 28-1 shot so he's not sure thing. I think #5 Temple will be closing. #8 Unleveraged has been away for 6 months but was heavily bet in his last race. I don't know what Chad Brown has in this French colt #12 Tribhuvan. Right now I'm looking at a 3-5-8-12 box but I'll be playing along tomorrow & will post. Feel free to place your plays in here. Maybe we'll hit something for the forum in collaborations. 

Race 4 I have to play #4 South Bend. I don't like to play Leparoux but I think this horse is too good to run 3rd again. He's done that twice in a row, had 2 stinkers but 3 wins before that.  

Race 5 #5 Chewing Gum had a questionable ride by Leparoux in his last. Post # 13 didn't help. And I like the jock change to Florent Geroux. #11 Almashrig won at 14-1 in her first try after coming over from England. He kind of woke up in his last. Having Luis Saez doesn't hurt his chances either. Last week it was Paco & this week it's Saez. #9 Intrepid Heart for JV/Pletcher has been away since July; love the breeding but will wait for tomorrow. I do like #5 Chewing Gum.

Good luck today Midnight, don't usually play the ponies except for the few times a year I go to Belmont. Make an exception today for the action so I'll be shadowing your plays

Pletcher ended up scratching #10 Candy Tycoon so all the bullshit I posted about the jock would be went right down the drain.

The other big scratch is in the 9th with #6 Newspaperofrecord.

I should have played your 6 with my 8 & 10 & we had the $247 tri for a buck box. 

Race 3 Although he's the chalk, I like #3 Largent.

yeah...I didn't expect Largent to get caught in a peed duel & he had just enough to hold off Gafflione on #5. Tyler has a winner & two 2nd's in tgh efirt 3 races.

Chalky ex $14; the tri was a little better @ $56.

Race 4...wow racing fans don't like my #9 South Bend. Maybe today's the day Leporaux finally wins on this colt.

Rosario came outside of Leparoux with a beautiful ride to catch my guy South Bend. I give Leparoux credit; he just got beat by a better colt.

Will have to settle for $7.20/$4.20. We almost had a nice 8-1 shot.
