Very interesting result the other day with READY A.P. winning by 8 lengths, as she had worked 3 times in a row (including a gate drill) with an unraced colt named BIG INVASION. Stick that in your pocket and save it for later.
Belmont - Race 2
#3 SOAR (8/1 ml)
First-time starter for Bill Mott worked in company with OLYMPIAD down at Payson Park, who was last seen beating the stakes horse CADDO RIVER in a 7-furlong maiden sprint at Saratoga last fall (final time 1:22.78). SOAR shipped up to Saratoga a couple of weeks later and worked from the gate with CODY'S WISH, who ran third at Belmont on 6/4. Following a drill with an unraced barnmate, SOAR then appeared to work with an older Group 1 winner from South America named EMILIA'S MOON (2-for-3 lifetime, last raced in 2019). Perhaps most important was SOAR's latest drill, a slow 1:04 turf drill that tends to be a very powerful angle with Mott runners. Expecting this one to run well.
