OAKS DAY

I've played a couple of races so far. Nothing big but I like the rest of the card starting in Race 7 where I think # 3 First Mission will be tough to beat.

FYI..Jose Lezcano was named on a couple of mounts but he's still recovering from a concussion. He won't be riding this weekend.

Was glad to see Carl Spackler come back with an exciting win yesterday after a layoff & was looking forward to seeing Tapit Thrice try the same thing but he scratched. Pounce was another I liked but she scratched as well.

I watched the replay of Tarifa's last race & she was hard pressed to hang on in her last race that she won. I'm boxing 5-12-13-14 in the OAKS.

#3 First Mission won easily & it was a nice $106 exacta.

Very nice. Maybe another Japanese horse will follow suit.

Irad not riding preferred horses . I know it’s tied to commitments ,owner contracts, and such but maybe time to start watching his mounts

Race 10 small Ortiz Bros exacta box 10-13

My play in this race, Pounce scratched. But..

Small WPS play on #3 Scalable. Saw this filly win easily @ GP & am surprised to see her in here. But Frankie Dettori hops up for Pletch @ 23-1 = small play.

Tri key 9 with 1-3-7-11

To me, might be worth taking another look at today's 'T O'  horse in terms for Saturday's main event.  I know, jockey is on Forever Young but a look into the bloodline and the visual has me doing a double/triple take/fellow and T O was the 'back up'/'second choice/tier' of the Japanese horses.

Race 12..# 6 Mink's Palace has been away for 6 mths but has 2 recent bullets for Eddie Kenally. Like that Luis Saez stays onboard. I'll give this one a shot @ 13-1

Mink's Palace gave me a goo run @ 16-1 but #11 Almosgone Rocket was too good @ 2-1.

Paid a healthy $11.32/$6.74

I had a hunch Saez was going to try & steal it on the lead. He did exactly that.

At least I'm in the ballpark with my capping.

Race 13 # 3 ..Playing Tricky Dick Dutrow/Dettori; #6 Fancy gets a jock upgrade to Tyler; #7 Sustancia going with the Saez/Kenneally combo & #14 Whay is Johnny V hanging around to ride this filly again? that's my box
