Saturday @ the BIGA, GP & Tampa Bay

Very happy to see all the trainers/owners shipping their stock to Gulfstream. It's so great to cap the locals vs the shippers. Early on the local trainers have a little edge but when you see a Castellano/Pletcher/Repole 2 year old first time out it's so much fun to watch the crowd jockey for position along the walking ring to get a look. Then the owners start showing up & the handlers walk the horses into the walking ring. Jockeys come out, trainers greet them, maybe say a few words to them (but Pletcher, Mott, Brown etc) have already discussed the race with the jock. BTW next time you are near the walking ring check out these jockeys who are indeed athletes/miilionaires. 

Fun to see owners like Bobby Flay, Bill Parcells & Rick Pitino. I don't know this but I think they look at horse players & see themselves in us & treat us in a vey positive way. Anyway....

The BigA has a great card Saturday & Gulfsteam's is decent. I can't win worth a damn @ Tampa Bay but can't stay away from there. 

I already capped these 3 tracks for Saturday.

Hope this forum perks up. I'll share what caught my attention for Saturauy & at first glance I saw an 11 year old that can get a check.

Tampa is the first track I capped last night but I'm not sure I'm playing anything here. But there are a coupe that caught my eye.

In Race 3 #7 Pay Any Price has won 15 of 24 in his career & was just about unbeatable at Gulfstream. Jock Edgar Zayas has a couple of live ones Saturday & will stay aboard this guy. This super chalk but one to play around with Pic 3's or on top of a tri key with a couple of long shots. Something like 7/1358. 

Race 4 #8 Dancing in the Heat has the same combination as above with Zayas & trainer Georgina Baxter ML 3-2. But I'm going to play #7 Amace who attracts top Tampa jock Antonio Gallardo for trainer/owner Angel Quiroz. Last year he shipped from Gulfstream in a similar situation & won gamely. Maybe lightning strikes twice. Have to admit his recent form has been crappy. ML is 15-1.

Race 5 is a stakes for 100k. #1 Miz Mahen has won 5 of 8 this year for trainer/owner Eddie Plesa. Actually his wife owns this filly. She won 5 in a row before throwing in a stinker @ Belmont in September. I'm playing an ex/tri key of 1/4911 & 12.

Race 6 #2 And Won has been racing in the Midwest @ Indiana Downs & Arlington. He just missed in his last closing to get a 2nd @ 10-1 & gets a big jock upgrade to Gallardo. I'm going to watch the board on this one & may wager an exacta/double wheel. ML is 6-1 

Race 9 is a wild MSW. Ex/tri box 4-8-9-10

Race 4 is an interesting 250k stakes. #5 Jennifer's Dream moves to the barn of Jason Servis & Frankie Pennington gets up. The bad new is this girl gave up the lead in her last when ahead by almost 3 lenghts. That usually scares me off a any filly but I'm putting her in my ex/tri box 1-5-7

Race 5 looking for Joey Bravo to get a good break on #2 Dream Passage. I'm playing #2 with a couple of bombs 3710& 13.

Race 7 #6 Adonis Creed ..love the way he drew off to win his last easily. Ex/tri key 6 with 3-10-14

Gulfstream has teh Claiming Championship races tomorrow. Good to Gafflione, Leparoux, Santana, Luis Saez back in South Florida. However the real meet starts when Johnny V & Javier get down here.

In Race 2 trainer Jorge Navarro has 4 entered in the race. I'll take 2 of his in the double. Race 1 157 & 12 with 2 & 7 in the 2nd.

Race 3 looks wide open to me. Have no idea at this time.

Race 4 #2 Appealing Future ships in from PARX  & he's won 5 of 11 this year including 2 in a row. Ex wheel & DD 2 with 3568.

One other note...In race 1 @ GP #5 Avocado was the beaten favorite in her first try on dirt. She switches to the turf here & her daddy is Noble Mission who won over 2 million. This will be her 2nd start. No way we get the ML of 6-1.

Take a long look at this one but I'm sure the tote board will say it all

#1 won paying 12.20 & am alive with the #8 in the double with a small $32.

Let's bring this double home

#5 Avocado is down to 3-1 right now; looks great. We'll see. 

Avocado tired in the stretch to run 3rd. Chris Landeros went last to first on #6 Solar Kitten.  Good race but

Nice ride by Nik Juarez on #2 Appealing Future. Went to the lead out of the gate, then sat back in fourth until the stretch, came in through the rail while Paco on #7 tried to bury him on the rail but Juarez didn't panic, got through & had to hold off a charging #9.

Exacta paid $60 & alive in the double.

If you get a chance, check out this ride by Joe Bravo. Dream Passage didn't break well, got stuck in the back with 12 horses ahead of him. Into the stretch it was a cavalry charge , he briefly steadied, went through a small hole & won by about a half catching #7.

Exacta paid $34; was hoping for more but Javier was on the #7 & he always get played. 

Race 5 ex/tri box 3568

I knew #3 would be chalky but #8 Oxford Comma for Tom Amoss really got hammered late & won easily. The real surprise was #7 who beat me for 2nd. Ran 1st 3rd & 4th here.

But picked up the chalky $18 double.

Didn't see much value so I had some discipline  & didn't play this one but it paid a decent $22 exacta.

So if you are in this forum you've heard of trainer Jorge Navarro. He's one of the dirtiest trainers & has been busted a number of times.

He had 3 horses in this race & his 8 year old #11 Salsa's Return won paying $34.60; his other horse #4 Donji ran 2nd paying $21.20. His exacta paid $532!

What can I say

Adonis Creed won by about 4 but #14 couldn't get passed #9. Should have wheeled Adonis because the exacta paid $208.
