Hey, I checked out the videos today. Thanks for the tip. I'm hopin' to get a short one on AUD/USD, but all it's done all day is go the wrong way. Hopin' it goes down.

Also bucknuts, I saw your reply on the crosses the other day, and looked at the ones you told me about. My question back at you is if it's everytime they cross, or what else am I looking for on a 'cross".

I am going to lose everything in my account on that fuckin' AAD/USD trade. I know I'm still learning, but that really hurts when you're trying to figure this out, and you try to ride one out, and it goes nothing but the wrong way. Can you really make any money doing this? When do you know you're in too far, and get out? I started with $25.00 of mine, and the $25.00 from the CNBC site. I opened too many trades at once, and lost that all. I put more in, and tried to ride this one out, and as of now, I'm about $2.00 away from it being gone. I'm really thinking that this isn't what I should be doing. Everything I touch, goes the other way.

sjwell29.......you only want to be in one trade at a time first of all.....you have to remember that the lot itself is costing some margin....you just have to find something that works for you..the crosses are perfect but im working days right now so im missing most of the good trades....

Look at EUR/JPY if that cross comes we could see 1.14 again it now 1.1750

If your in a mini id say sell one lot and set it for 100 pips at least....im off to work be back around 5pm or so

sjewell, like bucknuts said you should only be in one trade at a time right now and i believe you should set a stop loss (at least at first -- i lost 75% of account on one trade that went horribly against me).  depending on how much you are going for you will want to set your stop loss accordingly, but i usually set it pretty wide now.  also you have to learn to be patient and wait for the right trade (something i had a problem with at first).  i think this is somethign that pretty much eveyone will lose some money at first trying to learn, but if you're carefull you can minimize the loses while eventually getting the hang of it.

Hey guys, real new to this, I have a practice account, and am doing well.

could someone explain to me what  UPL:  and Floating P/L are  think I have a grasp on what the yare  the floating P/L is the ammount of money generated during a session dictated by the pips right?   if you are down 2 pips it would be -20  when a pip =10?
I think I know what they are but I just dont know what the abrv. stands for.

also, What is it like withdrawling money from an account, do you get it like an online book or is it like dirrect deposit.

buck I know that you said you were trying to make a run at this and do it for a living.  Id like to get a rundown on your opperation, if you dont mind (dont mean to pry)  I am not thinking of doing this for a living, but I would like to understand it better,  Im thinking of depositing somewhere around 10,000 around the April timeframe, and want to get some good info.

    thanks guys

P/L means profit/loss... you will have an unrealized profit loss which is the P/L of your trades that are still open.

banked 70pips going long on gbp/usd this AM.. back in long at 1.4160

yes rick... the P/L is actual money profit or loss.  on minilots it is $1/pip if usd is the second currency (around $1 if itis not) and for a regular account it is $10/pip

Thanks popinjay. How did you guys learn this. I know there are classes they want you to pay for, but is it worth it. I'd like to know what I'm looking for in a "cross", I think I heard something about "triangles", and any other beginner tips.

a good site i read through before i started was www.babypips.com it has the school where you go through various grades and it teaches you all the basics for free... there are also the sites where we go to like www.dailyfx.com .  its a good source of info where advisors posts videos and users can post on the message boards there.

sorry guys my wife is having some health issues last few weeks.....

Well i see nobody took my advice on EUR/JPY calledit out for a sell at 1.1750s and i said go for 100 at least.....it hit a low of 1.1611 just a few hrs later

Rick ive been doing this for a few years,it took alot of losing but ive finally found something that works for me.....i trade crosses of the DMI lines and top top or bottom bottom of the ADX and DMI+...i use 4hr charts to find trades and will soon be moving up to daily charts, but the 4hr chart is key for finding a pair ready for trade....

Im home today with the weather here in Ohio we are at a level 2....im getting ready to jump in JPY here looking for something small maybe 30-50 pips but i trade 2 lots so were talking about a $600-$1000 trade
