General Mills (GIS) @$41.80's & Kraft Heintz (KHC) @$50.75 area both pay a nice 4.6%+ dividend while waiting for BOTH to recover from betw. 35%-45% off their highs for the year...hopefully sometime within the next 18 mos. if not sooner...
last two plays AT&T ($31) is holding steady in the mid $30's & TAP (Molson Coors) @$59 prob look to SELL in the upper $65 area for a 10% gainer.... BOLTA

These picks will not thrill anyone looking to get rich quick, but the dividends are nice. Both GIS and KHC are safe investments at these levels which might be great core holdings for seniors and retired people or anyone seeking income. The 20 year returns are anemic and I wouldn't expect a bust out, but it's almost impossible to lose money here.

Gambler, these plays aren't supposed to make anybody RICH...i think these are GOOD values at these prices..I have these to hedge the market from another 20%-25% decline...i think if the FED STOPS increasing interest rates & if Trump negotiates a deal with Trade Tariffs the markets probably spike higher...other wise we can probably expect some side ways movement or downside from these levels...i figure 4.5% beats any CD with some upside with these two plays...U got any plays to make me RICH?? i'm all ears....

I agree that they are good values at current levels. That's all an investor can hope for. I'm not one to pay up for growth like in Amazon or Netflix (except in mutual funds), so I like the picks for conservative investors.

Also gonna BUY Altria (MO) @$53's...another "safe" value investment during time of uncertainty...pays a NICE 5%+ dividend as well...a drop from almst $75 within the last 12 mos....BOL

Nobody saw December being so bad sfg8, but I suppose these stocks did what you would want them to do in a downturn/correction. With 10 of 11 sectors bottoming out in bear territory recently (20%+), these stocks were the ones that didn't get you killed.

yeah gambler, the idea for me at the moment is either hedge/ and be defensive ..so in a dwn turn so i WONT lose the 20%-30% many of the high flyers like FB/ AAPL/ NVDA/ AMZN etc. have alrdy lost..
Zebra u right about that...buying those back 25 yrs ago you'd be sitting pretty good....Wish i'd have BOUGHT NFLX @$6 when a friend of mine told me about them (prob about 20-25 yrs ago) ...he was working in the shipping area of the DVD's out of the bay area ...told me every day they'd be shipping out thousands a day....i just didn't think it could last ... but NOT only did it last but was close to $355 per share the last time i looked...not to mention all the stock- splits. $5K is prob worth OVER $5 million tdy if you held on ....Oh well the one that got away....
