Yep, WSC.
 
Damn good contrarian play to long the USD.  Hope it comes through.
 
I am content to "trade" and "football gamble" only and put my "long term investment money" in to a survivalist fund:
 
1) Underground cement bunker and about 25 acres of fertile soil with lots of timber
2) Weapons
3) Ammo
4) Warm clothes
5) Seeds for planting
6) Mason jars
7) A water well
8) Skids and pallets
9) Wood stove
 
I am not kidding.

If you are really that gloomy, it wont be enough.

If we go into "road warrior" mode it will be total chaos and survival wont happen in main society period, maybe if you holed up in a remote area in Montana, but near any urban center that wont work.

Holy Crap CC, somebody is slipping you some bad weed.  Find a new supplier and/or just stick with beer and G&T's like I do.  Buy a motorcycle, or throw some Tom Petty on, maybe a trip to Vegas, do something man, you are in a serious funk.

I dont know..maybe some local issue that made the delay, but we have seen in the past mistakes happen..could have been a typo and they are tomorrow morning?

I was fighting pretty heavy in there today with the idiots.

Yeah I saw that Wallstreet . . . its quite an uphill battle though.  They are persistent and hope that out of the 10 things they post people believe 1. 

What do you think their deal is?  Jilted investors from before?  boredom?  I don't get it.

I dont care since I would prefer the earnings close to the CC telecast which is tomorrow morning.

That Bill guy has fought with me since day one of me owning the stock..that Playtow guy is a total moron and audiofile is overly negative and slighted to his position.

I love debating and battling as you can tell.

On a "trading" front, looks like the big boys are going to have a field day attacking shorts after LD if we can get about 11 or so more days of rampant pessimism.

It will be a wild stretch until the money is back home after Labor Day..no doubt about that.

VH2 and others, I made a post on yahoo about some of my opinions and findings regarding DRYS, check it out there, I dont feel it adds to this forum since most are not in the stock.

My opinion is I liked what I saw, especially from the OR assets, the margins and utilization were better than I thought.

Yeah, as you know, I own nothing for the "long haul."  Won't do any good in a military fiefdom.
 
But, is "DRYS" worth a trade tomorrow?  I'd love to go long it if there is a big gap down this morning.
 
What is the short interest on DRYS?

DRYS just came off the SHO list, it goes on and off..short interest is pretty high, but getting a fresh number isnt too easy as you know.

I have no idea if it will gap down but if it does the trade is there. I like most of what I saw and if the market puts it on sale, take advantage.

I may do it, but won't unless there is a gap down today.  Doesn't matter why.....just a gap down.  Could be DRYS related or just general market pessimism.
 
The common public theme today will be "everyone will worry about the weekend (mid east, Russia, Iran, Israel, hurricanes, etc) and want to sell."  Therefore, I expect Mr Market to once again ramrod the yahoo perception and send the broad market to a higher close.....thus, DRYS goes along for the ride.

The only issue is that more than likely the news is out and the catalyst is gone so the volatility should reduce.

I love the Drill rig story, this quarter the assets added 80 cents or so EBITDA with 6 weeks contribution, I figure that at full capacity the two will make 7-8 bucks a share per year, add two more in late 2011 and that takes the full earnings of 4 drill rigs to between 15-20 per share, give that a market valuation and you have an asset priced at the current price of the stock NOW..so their shipping business is pretty much for free. I will hold shares till the spinoff and longer because I think there is great value being unrealized and I have 5 years if necessary to wait to get paid from this stock.

Looks like a flat open on "Lie Street" for now.
 
Will monitor DRYS' open from my crap-hole job and tag it for 1000 shares at open if it's down.  If not down, not interested.

 DRYS dropped to 68.44 early will be interesting to watch for the next couple of hours even if you did not take the position CC...now back up to @70...

Yeah, Vermeer.  Did exactly as I said I would.  DRYS gapped down "a little" at open, so I  tagged 70.14 for 1000 shares at 0930 EDT.

I'll hold for the next 114 minutes and hope for a short covering rally in to the close.

Any help, WSC?

I think it goes lower into the close, based on typical trading patterns after earnings release.

70 is a good price, might be bumpy for a bit but I cannot value the stock at 3.5 times 2008 and 2009 earnings and think it is a SELL.

Well, we'll see, WSC.  Going to hold unless it skyrockets in to the close.
 
If this works over the next week or so, I will sell, pay the 20 bucks to the clearing house, then pay 28% to the sh--heads in DC for their crappola, and take what's left and use it for football gambling-----"Long may it last."
