Does anyone follow this stock? It's currently trading below book and claims to be the worlds largest silver producer. All the news looks great but stock goes down almost everyday. I'm considering buyinga big chunk but am wondering if there is something on the horizon that I'm missing.
Thanks

Stock selling at 7 times sales. Margins are not thrilling, they have almost 2X debt to cash and they are a total share floater.
When they need cash they float shares..for a 3 buck stock to have 1.5B share market cap, that is too many shares.
Also, it is hunting for a bottom, you could see it keep searching. This is 5 yr lows the stock is at right now. You could end up picking the bottom but I see plenty of reasons to pass and/or wait it out.

Look past the PPS and consider-

I see your point; and in other industries the fundamental issues are valid but don't you feel in the case of Junior Minersit's more about assets in the ground? Especially with most Juniors producing nothing; if you look at many of these Coal stocks that are going parabolic they are losing money and are priced on future earnings much the same as I feel CDE should be based on their silver in the ground. Even everyones favorite Gold Stock AEM sells at 20 x P/S. With the Gold/Silver ratio way it's historical balance I'm projecting a big move in silver and hoping they trend up with this move. My thought is they incurred much of this debt in acquisitions of Bolnisi and Palmarejo, which made them the worlds largest mine in turn they increased float and debt in return for assets in the ground. And I feel like silver in the ground is more valuable than dollars in the bank. That said I bought 15k shares today and sold some JAN 09-10 2.5 puts. Wish me luck!

Good Luck, something you are definitely going to need the way things are going. The stock market is taking a beating right now, which may be a good thing if you are looking to invest. MERCK & CO INC (MRK) has been the only consistent stock in my portfolio. But like most investments patience is the key, all the people panicking, dumping everything and cutting their losses are making a big mistake in the long run.
