havent really followed idmi,,i see the latest news ,restructuring,,job cuts, etc....,,,any other reasons this thing has dropped like a lead balloon,,,,somebody impulse me to buy this thing,,i want in

just been handed a pitch for merck,,we are to be buying it for our customers starting 2day,,hmmmmmmmm   ,guess i better get on the horn,,be back later

boiler - seems that MRK (with its recent 33% haircut) has become a nice value play with the 3.3% yield

    hey im no analyst,,i sell what they tell me to,,they write it up all nice so  i sound so knowledgeable and smart when im pitchin it,,,,,,but i do agree ,,shit i own it and have been buying on the way down,,,made a lot of loot on merck over the years,,in i think 2002 it was at like 12 -13 ,,bought a ton back then,3 years earlier its at like 80,,,same good company but the dot com burst took em all down ,even the good ones,,,u knew u would never see 60 70 or 80 again but at 12 $,,back up the truck

pfe is probably the cheapest out of pfe, mrk, sgp (all jersey companies)

with big pharma, the only thing that matters is R&D and the pipeline

im not a fan of that whole sector...i do like the HMOs a lot...AET, WLP, UNH...AET in particular

        fuck im getting my csco mixed up with my merck pitch,,,,,someone asked me about csco ,mind is all over the place ,,anyway ,i dont own any mrk either koaj and i agree i dont like the sector much,,,,,csco is another story as u can tell from my above history lesson

boiler,

I had a client when I was a broker in PA, lived in Pharma country..in NJ, she owned probably 500k worth of MRK. I tried and tried and tried forever to get her to diversify, but she would not.

Now I hope she did before the last year or so, but my opinion of the stock is neutral..wouldnt own it myself, proabably go with Koaj on PFE, or maybe JNJ..

yeah wall no pharma for me right now,,i was refering to csco in the last half of that post ,,it meshed into my mrk thought,not enough sleep,was battling it out in the box late nite,check some of it out u will piss ur pants,,when i dont drink i turn into an insomniac,cant sleep,,that mean i have a drinking problem?,,it might

Added another 1k shares at 1.75 on IDMI

I can add another 500 to fill my total money on the stock, lets see if it drifts down to 1.50 or so.

CRDC picked up a little momentum today as well, light volume though.

CRDC is a wacky stock..I would love to see them hit their stride and the stock to move to 20 plus.

Vermeer, I am not a fan of Daystar...they have common and warrants and I just dont see them being a large player, but if you believe their story, well the stock could go much higher.

For speculation I prefer HOKU over DSTI in that general area.

I bailed on my PFE position a couple days ago.  That's one ugly looking chart; lower highs and lows.  I'm not even sure that dividend can stop this stock from trading in the teens, until they get that pipeline filled.  I also think that dividend traps this stock in a narrow price range.  Personally I would look at others in this space before PFE.

 

Crazy two days in ACUS, I still hold.

 I know people like to hate coal companies, but given the demand and the supply of it in this country, despite the government's latest pullout of clean coal projects, I remain tempted. In truth, to me anyone who thinks nuclear power is "greener" than coal is smoking too much hippie lettuce.

The dollar has to hit bottom some time does it not? That seems the logic in the post below.But my question is, what in the coming year and election would lead anyone to believe the US trade imbalance, deficit spending and tax picture would improve? I see it worsening, not lessening.However,I also see the Europeans as getting to enjoy their version of our housing and debt problems.

Currency traders are betting Bernanke's rate cuts will spur the U.S. economy as Europe slows, and they're going long the dollar. Of the 31 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg, the median estimate is that the dollar will gain 5.4% against the euro by the end of this year and another 6% in 2009. The dollar fell 10.6% in 2007 and 11.4% in 2006.

Trader Monthly released its Trades of the Year issue today and awarded the "Equity Short of the Year" to Bill Ackman and his persistent short position on MBIA and Ambac. The article quotes a source close to Ackman saying he plans to ride the trade to zero, gaining approximately $3 billion for his Pershing Square hedge fund.

The trade of the year, not surprisingly, went to John Paulson. Paulson's flagship hedge fund gained 590% for the year after taking massive short positions in subprime mortgages. His personal paycheck is rumored to be $4 billion.
