Unbelievably, and quite by accident (totally by accident) - I have only about half of my 401K in equities.
I am almost ashamed to admit this, but I havent checked my 401K account for about 5 years until about 2 months ago. I had a 10 year working career from 1990 to about 2000 where I put money in to 401K, but just left it alone.
I now have a self employed 401K (because I file as a professional gambler schedule C) - I am allowed to put in enormous amounts (up to about 45K per year) to my 401K. I did it last year, but it automatically invested it in my set profile which was probably appropriate for a 65 year old.
So now I am making my 45K contribution now instead of the end of the year for this year, and am reallocating the 200K or so that is already in there in to 100% equities.
I have 25+ years. If the market doesnt recover by then, I probably dont want to be alive anyway.
