Those September 115s are toast or so I consider them, complete flame out.C'est la vie.
Live and burn.
Still will hold the stock and have a standing order for more at a very low price, which I will be delighted should it fill.
By the way, I sure hope Obama has better judgment about cabinet officers than he does about advisors and pastors...can't keep track of all th people he has had to pretend to disavow lately...
SKF takes a downturn today, but I think that escalator trip will again head north.
I have cashed out of some stuff to lock in some very hard earned gains.I am going to belatedly heed the saying of sell in May and go away, I foresee little good news in the coming months.

I really thought the market understood the stock and moves like the last two weeks was over..I was wrong.
I have some Sept 115s (I think) that are toast..but I also have some 120s for 2010 that I feel good about, I just need more money to load up since I was so darn early.
you never know with those sept 115's. I remember my junes that were dead and would have made our really well if I didnt sell them so early. Anyone look at kkd last week or so? I keep seeing them again so started looking at the stock. Been moving quite a bit lately.

I had written off KKD. They left our market and now came back..I think in Gilbert right? Might venture over there on Sunday since I will be in that part of the valley.
They are interesting but still a mess.
You are right about the Sept options, I have 3 months..anything can happen and I hope it does.

SQNM soaring again on huge volume. It's basically doubled in the last 3 weeks. No telling where this one ends up. Long-term I think this one goes nuclear.

I wonder if that lawsuit will have any traction. Its a pretty big claim by Orchid.
They need some sales to go nuclear, right now selling at 14 times sales and 12 times book while not making money.
They will have to do a secondary quite quickly if they are going to ramp sales, their burn rate gives them another 6-12 months before needing to tap the equity vine again.
So you could be right about more move but the sales need to start coming in.

The lawsuit is totally frivolous. What it tells me is that SQNM has a winner. They filed it right after the big announcement to try to slow then down. I think it had been on the shelf for years and they finally decided to for the hell of it. Just a nuisance.
As for sales, they are targeting late first half of 2009 for starting to bring it to market. That was already an accelerated pace, it won't happen faster. But once that starts and it quickly gains market share then the money will pour in. If they have to do a secondary, so be it. I'd personally loan them for some cheap shares. They've got a winner on their hands. It's undeniable that when (it's almost not an if) this product comes to market it is going to own the market. A disruptive technology, if you will. Safer, cheaper, easier and by early accounts, more effective. 100% effective over the first 200 samples vs. 70-90% effective under current methods. Even though the first sample was small, it's statistically almost impossible that it wouldn't be more effective than current methods.
The stock isn't going to $100 before the test goes to market and the money comes in, but that isn't too far off either. 12-18 months. And then the sky's the limit.
Not to mention there are many many more applications in progress that are not that far off. Agricultural and livestock, human genome, etc. My bet is that SQNM is going to be one of the giants in this space.

DRYS has been going down down down since their last great earnings report.
Currently the market is pricing them as if the BDI is going to 5k again, or worse.
It is pissing me off but I am not going anywhere..it is a disaster though as are all shipper stocks.
Market sure took it across the chops again..brutal reversal.
Wallstreet . . . why do you think DRYS has gotten beaten up so badly even though they had such great earnings and have such a great balance sheet? doesn't make any sense. Hopefully good news next week . . . thoughts?

DRYS carries an ultra high beta and they took it down because they can and do often.
It is damaged as of now and is about 10 pts from improving technically speaking.
There is also though that the BDI might have topped for good, I dont buy that but the big money has made money long and short on the stock so they can push it around easily.

If the world is going to follow the US into the shitter economically then it would make sense that the BDI has seen its high. Hope it is not the case. The numbers on DRYS are absurd relative to its price, to me.I will be looking at doubling my holdings of it this week if I see a further decline from these levels.

What is a realistic estimate for real inflation, not the specious "core inflation" our wonderful hacks in DC prefer to use? Seriously, best estimate for calendar year 2008...

and believe it or not, what people are telling me is that BUD is in fact rumoring to buy HANS, in order to throw off the Imbev offer. as BUD insiders do not want to sell to europe.
who knows if that's true, probably not, but 10% runs are more than welcome

"We have seen the heads of virtually all financial institutions stand
up over the last few months and claim the worst is behind us. Why would
anyone listen to these people? They didn't see the disaster coming, and
yet somehow they are qualified to tell us it is all alright! Perhaps I
am just unduly sceptical, but this reeks of a conspiracy of optimism.
The recession has barely started, let alone reached its nadir. The
market moves of late have all the hallmarks of a classic sucker's
rally. This isn't discounting the recovery, this is denial! Far from
being behind us, the worst may well still be ahead!"
