New to Stocks...

Any tips and tricks would be appreciated.. Stocks I am looking at are Citibank, Bank of America and Sprint any thoughts?

IMO, I would not go anywhere near banking stocks...especially BAC. Whatever you buy, have a buying strategy, like the same $ amount every month.

Care to elaborate?Also BAC is at a all-time low right now i believe at $7.25 a share.  This is a good price for long term investment.  I&#x27;m looking at some short term for a sprinkle of units but most of my units will be places in long term investments.  I see this stock going to 20-30 by next 2 years easily.  Banks make there money from mostly what?  Mortgages and Credit cards, so as soon as we see Americians racking up jobs and income we will see this stock rise.  Any thoughts?

The economy is going to get worse before it gets better (IMO)...
It might take 10 years+ (prob 15) for it to get better.

Invest in gold, it is at a all time high at 1900+ but will get well over 2500$ within 2 years

You shouldn&#x27;t attempt to pick indiviual stocks until you have over $100K  total in 3-4 Mutual Funds.&#xD;&#xA;Look at Vanguard and / or Fidelity for an Index Fund, International Fund and Grothe Fund...&#xD;&#xA;BOL

Never listen to anybody tell you shouldn't or can't do something. Doesn't matter what it is in life, follow your inclinations and intentions.

If you want to get into stocks, though, you'll have to do homework. Start watching a financial tv network, like CNBC. Watch Mad Money with Jim Cramer for a month. Don't buy anything, just watch and take notes. Follw some of the stocks that are mentioned. Get ideas. Read a book on investing. Check out www.fool.com.

Make some "pretend" picks, and track your stocks to see how they would have done.

Investing is big and complex. It can be risky. But you can do it. Don't leave it to fund managers. The most important thing is, don't invest in stocks unless you are free of credit card debt. There's no substitute for paying off your debts.

I&#x27;d say its more important to develop and refine a strategy than to take stock picks.  Pick up a book by William O&#x27;Neil and you&#x27;ll do just fine.  Just remember that risk management is key to successful investing.
