Here is a thread to place any ideas on speculative stocks, story stocks, etc etc. I will lead off with CYRX trading at a lofty $1.25 or so...I use about 1 to 2% of any account to play such stocks. Most lose, but the ones that don't make up for the losers.

Absolutely... if the stocks are optionable., it makes little sense to buy the stock and not the option. And they nede not be longs, but puts as well. The CYRX is a long I should have added.

I ll chime in when I get a few in buying range. I follow a few of these stocks but all are up a little from where I would recommend buying them at. I enjoy these types of stocks, interesting yet risky

SPY is the NYSE symbol for the SP 500, cd. Just sell it short and cover the day peeps start jumping out of windows.
Won't make you rich, but it should make you money barring something crazy........like a mid-east peace agreement, OPEC deciding to flood the markets with supply to "bring down the cost of oil," etc.....
The economic backdrop just doesn't allow for any "rally" to be legitimate any time soon. Eventually, the world economy will at least level out and not get any worse, but that day is not here, yet. I am afraid the current recession we're in could last quite a while. And yes, the world stock markets will turn long before the economy, but again, we're not ready for that, yet.

6 months later and SQNM still rocking around $25 now. Thiis is a game changer. SQNM could be the Google of genomics. The margins look to be just sick. IMportant data being realesed on Wednesday after the bell. High expectations.

Instead of shorting the SPY, sell an ATM call spread. You will get a much better ROI and you will only need the stock to settle below your short strike. Plus you will still have the option of buying the spread back if we jump off a cliff.
Once we get down to 75 we should see a bounce into another counter trend retracement. Sell an ATM put spread then and you got have super wing IC for a great return.

Took a while but 600% on AUSVF since this post a year ago. I think this little 4mm market capper may have hit the motherload. I have 40k shares wish I bought 100k more at .05. Traded over 9 million in Vancouver today 100x daily average.

Do some research on Quaterra resources QMM. They just signed two deals with FCX and their CEO Tom Patton took Western Silver from a penny stock to an eventual 8 billion dollar buyout a few years back. I'm in for 150k shares so obviously I'm biased but definitely worth reading into. I see this as a takeover target 7-8 bucks within a couple years.

So, you pumped 90 grand into a penny stock? That's some big balls you got there.
