my main issue is a system where Wall St takes risks on the premise of
"too big to fail" and expects the tax payer to absorb the risk while
they unilaterally enjoy the profits.
this is the problem, all the safety nets and fail safes that allow for the too big to fail attitude to exist,,,,,our gov't is supposed to be in place to break up monopolies, not encourage them,,,,,if something is too big to fail, then it is too big to succeed, so time to break them up into smaller companies,,,you can't have success without failure . We had regulations in place but the gov't removed them to allow for their shitty plans for mandated prosperity for all (think CRA). There was once a time when financial institutions attempted to operate sound business and didn't like the idea of blowing themselves up,,,,,when the gov't hinted that they could do whatever they please and that mommy would be there to pick them up when they fell, well we all just witnessed what happened
in closing, people with opinions just go around bothering each other

Gold, Silver, and Copper are and have been(12 years and running) my precious metals holdings.
Piss on Gold ? Not me.
Won't disagree on your Silver target.
Be easy, You may want to look at the long term charts on these metals. Can't afford some gold? I can accept and understand that. Piss on Gold? Sorry... The proof is in my pudding.

I read wsc and koaj portend that dollar index up means gold down,,,,,i understand that's how things are supposed to go, stronger dollar means it buys you more (whatever you're buying). My understanding is finite resources vs. infinite fiat money means that oil and gold (all metals) are,,,,,well,,,,,,going to the moon. so long as they are priced in USD's
macman, piss is just borrowed dad lingo. Nothing against gold, just that when/now that this is happening, it's not good for us all really,,,,,inflation will kill us all and gold breaking 1k and running is a scary indicator. i prefer coins, for multiple reasons. on recco from someone i've heeded advice from for awhile, i picked up one beautiful gold coin before gold breached 950,,,,,,,personally the coins aren't an investment, they are just a savings that no Bernanke nowhere can devalue on a whim
that and there's something oddly enjoyable about fondling real money

Outside of momentum that is how it SHOULD go, but when people are speculating on gold based on momentum, then the normal actions based on the theory will not function normally.

Well that is why the metal is moving outside historic measures and factors..people are BETTING on the metal as a speculative investment, just like oil and how it went to 150.

Be easy, I've been hearing for years how my logic regarding Gold is wrong/insane etc etc. I guess I've been speculating for 12 years.
In the Big picture... shit has yet to hit the fan. I agree w/you. GL We are all going to need it imo.
PS. Did I hear that the chief d-head at G.S. said "we are doing god's work" , in a recent interview? I think I did but it might have been a bad dream. Billions in the Bonus pool this year? (again...bad dream?)
The Government and GS have nothing in common(insert sarcasm).
Keep sifting through the BS and do the best you can do.

We are going to break through 1400 gold here in the next couple days. Will that be enough to trigger some selling? I don't know why, especially now with Oil on the move (darn Bama and his evil oil spec buddies )
If you got in Gold/Silver because you knew what was coming with this dollar destruction, why would you sell now? What else could you do with dollars? If anyone actually reads my posts, you might be shocked to hear that i think Real Estate is becoming a more and more attractive "investment"

maybe he had an opposite opinion of one of the mods, at a bad time when one of their favorite local sports teams had just been drubbed, i dunno
Weak..if you are going to keep bashing me at least make it interesting. The problem is all you have on me is a football team I follow, pretty pathetic.
Not that it matters but I wasnt the guy who banned him, we actually conversed quite often about investments..so yet another missed bash..poor BE.

what is your deal? You are a moderator, aren't you supposed to be the one that is fair and balanced, not always lashing out and making wild accusations and attacks?
I know you want to make everything about Wall all the time, and you have some strange complex where you think the whole forum is against you, but that's a dangerous assumption, especially here, i was referring to the other mod that stalks and attacks me (i don't know why, i guess you guys are jealous of me) who is a fan of the crap teams from Minnesota
AMAZING YOU TRY TO RUIN YET ANOTHER THREAD I STARTED with your childish games and bashing, maybe i should bring this to the attention of your higher ups, if you cannot control yourself.
30$ Silver by xmas 2010
christmas came a couple weeks early for big dad
originally i had intentions to take some profits here, but i see no reason for that, silver is on the move and i don't have a better alternative to go with worthless USD's if i were to sell now.
Happy Holidays to all you Ag gamblers
and to the haters just more lumps of coal for you

so after leveling off a bit, it seems we are back at it
What will be the catalyst to knock down PM prices?
Silver and copper in backwardation, IF the global economy is going to get back to some serious continued growth, is there really that much of these metals sitting idle in the ground? It seems like it's going to take us to 50$ just to start bringing enough to market to meet demand. Does anyone else envision a scenario where people ditch the GLD and SLV type investments? Because parlaying those paper chasers with the physical demand for silver, and Chindia's newfound hunger for real money over toilet paper, it smells like there's some smoke,,,,,,,,
