thats not true. ever heard of poker? this is a game where people can make money basicaly every month if they are good, i rarely have losing weeks anymore, and when i do all the time i win on it makes up for the days i lose. but you ant be stupid and play table games blackjack or any of that bullshit, sure sports sometime is ok, but the real $ is at poker get good at it and you have an advantage over the average person

it not that ridiculous or hard to win $100 a day on average at a 1/2 nl poker or some kind of higher limit omaha game, i mean shit you can win that in omaha in 1 pot at 10/20 or somethign like that. if you dont spend money like crazy, i know $100 a day doesnt sound like much say $3k a month. but if your rent is not ridiculous and you dont waste cash it pretty good, it tax free as long you dont report it and i mean alot of people only make that after taxes at normal jobs, if you can make that at poker each day why not right?

i wouldnt try to make a living off blackjack or something all those games are sucker games, poker is not a sucker game though it more a game of skill than any of the other games

the only people that seem to make $ gambling in vegas in long run are good poker players, really good sports bettors, but i went to alot of sportsbook in las vegas most people parlay and dont bet games properly, but there is some that are really good at it

saw 1 guy on tv that is amazing at craps table somehow dont know how he does it . but the otehr shit is all sucker games, you might get lucky but id stay away from them, the odd time maybe i will play megabucks for $3 spin of slot machine cause the jackpots are like 30 million or more when they high but thats lucky as shit if you hit that, id love to hit it just 1 time though please

Delusional dreams to me.  Be happy and satisfied in your situation.  Lots of people do not have a girlfriend even part-time or family or friends or 2k.  With materialistic goals, you will be chasing a dream forever.  Listen to some of the posters here, they know what they are saying.  Some advocate going for your dream, cool!  That is great but be prepared for the consequences.  Gambling full-time requires so much self-discipline, money-management, etc.  You better have the maturity and strategies in place.
Some one said it earlier, and I am speaking only symbolically and in generality...  LA is for phonies and LV is for losers.

how delusional was bill gates in the day trying to make a pc?? or anybody that took a risk in life that people dont agree with it.. people will always judge call u crazy..u may fail but ur gonna miss every shot u dont take. i saw a stat once where 40%of millionaires had to declare bankruptcy first before they made so even if u fail never quit no matter how crazy it is..

DONT DO IT , maybe go for the weekend if anything, if you think you can survive with 2k in vegas, thats rediculous, you could end up homeless, last yr i booked 3 days at atlantic city, i brought 5k with me, after first day i had 600 left then eventually lost it all, thinking you can survive off the 2k is rediculous

to be fair, that is terrible money management (not criticizing, you were going for a 3 day trip, if you were trying to live off of it, you most likely would have managed your funds better)

Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs and Warren Buffett to me is a different creative genius.  This guy is going to try to make it in Vegas on 2k.  The percentages for those failure will probably be much higher.

there may be a fine line between dreams and delusions which may be the distinction here.  You may be unhappy in your present situation but things will and can change.  Las Vegas may not be the change you are seeking.

Iv'e been delusional for a long time off and on and suffer from bouts of manic depression having schizo-affective disorder - it sucks I don't travel or work anymore or have kept friends or have any relationships with women. Im trying to fight off a recent bout of depression and make sure I get back to working out. It's like I just give up on everything and feel bad about myself and stop grooming and working out - It's terrible but at times I feel good for months and follow sports and do ok. Iv'e got my parents at least - I think I'll get better when football comes back. Life is strange and good and bad at different times - maybe you'll feel better again at least your in somewhat control of your life. but I don't know I guess God has a plan for us - hope you enjoy life a bit more in the future - I'm off and on

Truly reality is a tough go.  Bible said do not worship the world for the world and its desires shall perish.  Today we get so wrapped up in all this materialism and try to escape with many delusions and desires.  LV is a city full of desires and illusions to make you believe in unreality.  Go for the MegaBucks, go for craps, blackjack, roulette,  wagering, etc.  maybe some can make it but probably the vast majority get swallowed and spit out.  Most will learn the hard way.  The house does not get beat very often.  If you must try, at least have a back up plan.

Go for it .Life is short, and there is nothing like Vegas for adventure and adrenalin. Fremont Street has plenty of inexpensive Hotels during the week.and plenty of reasonable, by the week places around Fremont to hang your hat. Lots of Sportsbooks,cheap eats, low limit poker.all within easy walking distance. As far as the gilfriend is concerned , I hear absense makes the heart grow fonder. - Just keep the booze to a minium and your roll has a fighting chance. Good luck to you sir.

Here is my advice.

Move to Vegas and live your dream.
Keep a video diary of what happens.
If everything goes bad, you can take your video diary, make a documentary about it and submit it to film festivals.

This is loser talk right here.  If Billy Walters exists than there's no reason why you cannot become him.

Infact Billy Walters was in your shoes exactly.  Broke, in lots of debt (from gambling), lost his wife, his house, blah blah blah.  Moves to vegas in the hopes of turning it around.  Look at what he is now.

Not everyone makes it big but some definitely do.  There's plenty of pro cappers and pro poker plays. You can be one of them.  It is possible.  How many people do what others think they should do and live a depressed, miserable life?  Lots.  Follow your heart.  Take chances.  Fail and learn.  Fuck the haters. Don't let your fears conquer you; move to Las Vegas and worry about the rest later.
