Heading to Vegas in 2 weeks for 5 days.
 
1. Is transportation to hotel from airport simple? Cabs, shuttles, etc..
 
2. Pool time. What's the best time to get a chair at the pool? I'm sure the earlier the better, but how early?
 
3. Tips. Who deserves a few bucks and who doesn't?

Golf...

1 - YES - TAKE A CAB - It will run you about $20/25 more but the shuttles TAKE FOREVER..  Last trip I was with some cheaper guys and they wanted to the $6 shuttle - Saturday night at 6pm took us over 2 hours to get to TI... Unless you are at the South end FORGET IT..

2 - Pools - I usually don't spend much time at the pools - Though from the looks of it by 10am on a Saturday, Forget about it.. Though I could be wrong...

3 - Tips...  Everyone expects a tip - I highly recommend a large tip for the center bar in the casino - Spending early goes a long way - Cabs, bellmen, room services, ect... I'm sure you know the drill...  If you are up tip the dealers/drink ladies - they make about $4 an hour... Also if you hit a taxable - or a big score at the book - leave the change...

I will take the cab which I'm sure there are an abundance of and head to our hotel center strip.
 
The girl is going with , but she's up at 7 am everyday so she'll handle the pool chair saving.
 
I am sure everyone expects a tip. Hotel staff for sure.
 
How does getting an upgraded room work? Slip em something at check in?

Alot of eye candy at the pool, especially Hard Rock Hotel.

G&G transportation is simple. cab ride around $20 bucks is correct.
 
pool - chair by 9 a.m. to be safe
 
tipping -  cocktail waitress, give nice tip for the first drink and a buck or two there after and you will never wait long for drinks .
 
i am leaving in 3 weeks and 3 days

When I check in i always slip them a 20$ bill with my id. 70% of the time I dont have to say a word. They will usually give me a small upgrade of some sort. 30% of the time they ask what its for and I say is there anything you can do to get me a good room with a nice view or they just give the money back and upgrade me to a strip view or something like that for free.

I have done the 20$ trick around 10 times. I think it worked every time but once. The one time it didn’t work was a long weekend and they were fully booked.

I will def try the 20 dollar tip on the check in as I don't wanna pay out the ass for a nicer room when with the click of a mouse they can do it for me if available...
 
Cabs easy to get ahold of at the airport?

depending on the time of day/day of the week - taxi lines can be pretty long

Tuesday evening should be alright.  If you want to impress her, spring for the limo or town car (think they're parked on the side w/ the shuttles)

There was a thread in here about the $20 thing and how it is not allowed anymore.

Pool -get there early or honestly the hottest part of the day is around 430pm so by then maybe it clears out and you can still enjoy the pool

Really? Was there in Dec and again in Feb, worked great both times still.

Limo is between $60 to $80 and is an amazing way to get the trip off on the right foot, under the assumption the lady hasn't been there before, if she has stick with the cab. I  just came back from there a week ago, there was 20 of us down for a 40th birthday party. It seemed like the pool was packed pretty early, but I must admit, I spent very little time there although most of my crew did. I have a pool at home, so to me, it was more about getting some blackjack time in and walking up and down the strip with a cold one. I'm too lazy to look back at the post, in case this was mentioned, but where are you staying?

Mick, it was all computer check in and 1 front desk person helping a busload of Japanese tourists at the actual check in desk.

They gave me the option of like 2 or 3 different room types at no additional cost, so we got a nice king overlooking the pool.
