godux05,
Make sure you take your wife to see the lions in MGM. Also if you like steak go to Craftsteak. Wolfgang Puck's I don't enjoy personally, but many do, but it is the ideal atmosphere cuz it's smack dab in the middle of the casino. Also take the wife to Mandalay Bay to the Aquarium/Shark Display it's awesome. Of course for shopping hit Caesars Palace Forum Shops. Sorry don't have any poker insight. Not my game. Enjoy your trip sir..
P.S. Take extra $$ cuz wife is with you... (LOL)

I wouldnt do something as mainstream as WP's for the nice Vegas dinner. I'd recomend one of Mario Batali's or Emiril's spots; there are a few of each throughout the strip ranging in from casual to elegant. WP's would be very ordinary.
You'll enjoy MGM - I just stayed there in october and loved it. It's a little large but that has it's pros as well.
Poker tourneys are at literally every casino. Just find one that fits your budget. As a rule of thumb, the sheaper buy-ins will exist at the "lower-end" resorts.
I hear "Love" is great for a show, but shows aren't my thing so no solid suggestions there.
Have fun

Does your wife like gambling? Site seeing? Shopping? Lounges at all? Have some ideas for you, but just want to get an idea of what you two like to do for a night on the town when you are on vacation.
Thanks.

SHOWS - for comedy, yeah someone like frank caliendo would work. hes mainly an impressionist. However if its more the Mrs' thing i would say go to La Reve @ Wynn or Love @ Mirage. you wont be dissapointed by either. both are cirque or cirque-esque shows. Love obv beatles orientated music.
MEAL - As said before, If u are in the MGM your better off eating at Craftsteak than WP allday ! ! Its immense. I also like Sea Blue which is a mediteranean fish restaurant from Michael Mina who has one of the top restaurants at the bellagio too. Michelin star food, very special and very nice and wont break the bank at all.
POKER - dont play the $65 crapshoots at the MGM. waste of time. Head up to Ballys for 11am for their morning tourney which attracts some 40-60 runners daily and is about $70. Or for even better value go to Caesars @ noon for their $100 freezout game which is pretty deep in chips, gets larger fields (70-140). if you are out in first 2 levels u can buy back in as an alternate too. lovely cardroom. or finally, the venetian has a very well structured game at noonish too which is about $150 and attracts a good size field again.
I just got back from my latest trip and cant wait to get back over, enjoy every minute !

Some rec's for a good time, with the spouse.
1) Craftsteak is a great spot at MGM for a dinner. If you want something really casual and fun, go to Battista's Hole in the Wall, for free wine and Italian food.
2) You have to take your wife, to have a cocktail with a great view of the strip. The Voodoo Lounge at the Rio, the Ghost Bar at the Palms would be my rec's if you want to take in a lounge atmosphere. If you want to have a nice glass of wine in a more subtle setting then I would recommend going to the Mix at the top of the The Hotel at Mandalay Bay, early in the evening. If you get there before, I think it is 10 pm, there is no cover and not too packed.
3) A great time is always had at the Piano Bar at New York, New York. I can't think of how many people I have had a cocktail with there, that just love it. Great energy.
4) If you are going to see a show, any Cirque one will work. I have seen Mystere, O, and Love and they were all great. I have not been, but our limo driver last time we were there told us that Jersey Boys was his top selection in Vegas.
5) You have to hang out in front of the fountains at the Bellagio.
6) Another great couple spot at night is the Wynn. There is a lounge outside that has a two drink minimum that has a great view of the water, with a light show in the background and you are surrounded by trees. Of course it might be a little cool there at that time. I believe it is called Parasol.
7) Good lunch spots are the Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops, Serendipity outside of Caesars, and the California Pizza Kitchen at the Mirage.
Hopefully that is a good start for you. If you have any other questions, before you go, would be happy to chime in.
