Check this out.
I'm going to vegas with 3 of my friends January 6th - January 9th. It's going to be my first weekend out there. Last time we went Monday - Thursday.
Leaving from Pittsburgh, airfare through SouthWest Airlines is $99 each way for a direct flight. Comes out to $220 after taxes and fees.
3 nights at the Flamingo total comes to $117 after taxes and fees. That's like $35 a night!
If you're willing to stay at Imperial Palace, it's even cheaper. (Somewhere around $95 for 3 nights before taxes and fees) This rate is with the Total Rewards card that anybody can sign up for online for free right now.
For 4 people to go and split the cost, it's $250 per person. I've never seen a deal this sweet especially on a weekend!
My theory is that statistically this weekend it's less crowded so they offer such a cheap rate with the hotel and the airline to attract more people. I may be complete wrong though. Does anyone know whats up with such a great weekend deal? Kind of weird.
It doesn't really matter to me either way though. It could be a ghost town when we get there and I know I'll still have a ball. It is VEGAS after all!
