Date Nov15-Nov19
Just got back from my first trip to LV. I thought I would update some people who will be planning their first trip and try to help out. I made some mistakes along the way and also picked up some lessons on the way. This is based on booze and sports. I never bet a single dollar on any table games. (We have a casino in Montreal so table games are old news)
I went against all odds and booked the CircusCircus knowing that this was a huge risk. I checked into a room (manor) and the beds were not even made when I got in. It was late Thursday night so I just slept over the covers with my clothes on.
Friday morning I hit the strip and checked out every sportbook along the way. Some better then others, some with better lines then others. I had a game plan on my big bets prior to arriving so line shopping was important for me. I had Michigan, BC and Lions-Giants Under as my main weekend bets. I started my walk from Circus right up to MGM. I had a hockey game picked out that I liked and the juice was an issue at some books. I dropped my first bet at the Mirage, then walked over to Planet Hollywood to watch it. I gave the guy at the ticket window a 10$ tip (Mirage) when I bet and did not get 1 comp. Stifff. Planet Hollywood is just insane when it comes to the women. WOW. Sports book is nice but drinks tickets are required. I paid for all my drinks on Friday night while watching the game. No bigge cause I won my first bet so I was excited as hell. Walked back over to Mirage to cash in. At the Mirage watched some of the later games and a hostess passed by for drinks, never asking for a ticket. I pulled out a 10 to pay and she gave me back 10bucks in dollar bills. All of a sudden drinks were free and not even betting. Go figure.
Saturday morning headed off to the Hilton to watch/bet the Michigan game. WOW, place was packed with buckeye red and joint was jammed. Got my seat and had some Gmilf waitress passing for free drinks all day long. The Hilton might not have the best screens or comfortable posh seats, but it has to rank as the best when it comes to service, lines and options. Left after the game and found myself back at the mirage for the BC-Clemson bet. Obviously no tickets required for drinks there, sat and drank like a fish for free.
I checked out of the CircusCircus on Sat and moved the plan over to the Flamingo witch is located in the middle of my two favs, Mirage and Planet Hollywood. The thing is, I thought I could save on the Hotel and did not really care if it was shitty, but I quickly discovered that walking back and forth just is not worth it. Shower and mid day naps come in handy for us sport gamblers, you have to wake up early to get seats and by the end of the day a nap and second shower are essential.
After collecting my winnings for BC bet it was time for some club planning. There are people on the streets touting tickets for clubs and strip joints. I started talking to this one guy and asked him how it worked. *** You basically ask him what clubs and he gives you the tickets, you give him a tip and that’s it. I gave him 20$ for the ticks I wanted (My buddy and I, 20 total). I chose Pure,Ghost,Rain,LAX,PlayboyClub and Tangerine. Now I knew from seeing it on Friday night that line ups could be an issue. I told him how much would I have to tip the guys to pass the VIP line. He said nothing, he pulls out a black book writes down your name and gives you a name of some guy. He said if there is a lineup you call the number and he will get you in front of the line. HE did this for 2 of my selections (Pure and Rain). I did not believe him but took the name and number anyhow.
Made my way over to the PALMS to check out the 3 clubs. If you are between 20-30, you will enjoy. box everywhere, dressed up and smelling sweet. I sat back at a slot machine, drank for free, and observed the packs of women to see witch club was the main choice. Rain and Ghost was the choice of selection and Playboy club was a sausage fest. It does not make sense, are guys stupid?? You have one place with women entering by the millisecond then the other, all you see is guys in line. I decided on Rain. Place is intense but picking up is pretty tough. LasVegas has the feel of a Cancun spring break outside but inside the clubs the feel is different. Some grinding but could not close. I guess cause the girls come in packs so they are more protective of each other. Moved the game over to PURE at around 3am. Also packed with smoking women. A little older crowd and a woman's image is everything in this club. They seem to be competing against each other. Not much action to report, was actually not very interested in approaching these snobs. Got back to my Casino at around 6am, jumped into shower grabbed a coffee and hit Planet Hollywood at around 8am to grab a seat and bet my game. Once again, tickets are required here. *** Before betting scope out the scene and see who looks generous with the tickets. I bet 1grand on the lions game and got 3 tickets, then I bet a 20 dollar parlay with another guy and he gave me 6. Go figure…. These books want people to bet parlays.
Played a 200dollar SF money line at 1pm and headed back to the hotel to catch some zzzz's. First time in my life I had been up for almost 30hours straight.
Late game was a no action bet. I headed over to ESPN ZONE to watch. ***Beware. 10$ an hour per person. If you aint drinking, then your paying to stay. Large screen is amazing HD, but food sucks and shit is over priced. Don't go.
Monday night was Caesars night. Rip off joint. 500 on a game and I got 2 tickets. **Tip: Caesars, when you are given tickets do not wait for hostess to come around. On the left of the sprotsbook there is an island bar. Go there and present your ticket, the drink size is about double from what the hostess gives you. After the game I jumped on a slot machine and was approached every 10 minutes with free drinks. Fuck I bet 500 on the game and get 2 drinks, I put 5 bucks in a slot machine and am treated like a king.
