HARD ROCK opinion

I have been to Vegas so many times I cant even count. Live in socal and prob make the truck out there once a quarter, sometimes more. I could give some great insight to questions on books/pools/ food at just about any hotel on the strip. I could prob even draw you a to-scale map of everything from M to Stratosphere, haha! However, I have never even stepped foot in the Hard Rock. How is it? I'm likely gunna try it out for my next trip, 9/25-9/27.

Yes, I know it's off the strip and I know their pool scene is out of control. Any opinions besides that?

I was there last month and it was great.  We were a bunch of guys all in our 20's.  It is a party hotel so there are no families and kids around.  The pool is great if you want to party and drink but if you want to relax it sucks.  One day we just wanted to sit by the pool and we had problems finding chairs and a decent spot.  We ended up getting a cabana for $500.  On Sunday the cabana was $1000

For the price we paid it was totally worth it.  we paid $60/night

Cantor Gaming is gonna run the book....which can be a huge plus, especially if you like ingame betting action. If you liked the book at The M, then you should like this one...not certain as to dates however

It's not a book that you'd want to sit around and watch a game. The book is one to place bets because the lines are among the best at times. I normally go there just to place a bet and leave.

The place does have a nice pool, a good vibe, but my biggest knock is the book.

VegasSound you are right as its like an OTB for me. I can walk there from my apt but it is not a sit down for the afternoon spot.

The rock stars photos all giving the finger is a little ridiculous.

Good insight. What does the book compare to? Say, a luxor or Monte Carlo level? Can't be as bad as NYNY, haha, that one is such a joke considering the age of the property...what were they thinking?

Any notable dining options at HR? Any 24 hr spots?

I love the HR. In fact i will be staying in the new HR suites oct 7-10.  The place has a great vibe. I could play cards in the casino all day long

But the sports book is a joke. I'm not sure what to cmpare it with...TV's suck, service is poor.  The lines seem to be ok compared with others, its just not a place you wnat to hang out at.  They will be making a new book at the "wasted space' bar starting next year i'm told. cant; wait.

The Book is actually probably as small as NYNY.  When I give the Hard Rock book my players card, they write my information down on a piece of paper, along with the bet amount, and I guess enter it into the computer later on.  It's not like they scan my card like other casinos. 

The book is probably the size of the bathroom at the Luxor.

bchad noticed ur dates, ill be there same weekend, were staying in the suites as mentioned ubove, scene is really good, its def  party casino and vibe, pink taco is great for food, not sure what there club or lounge is now, i was there when it was body english, but i think it has changed

I have stayed in the Hotel numerous times including the New Hotel Wing. Its nice but the rooms in the new spot are dark like a vampire cave.

Anyway, If you enjoy Vegas it doesnt make sense to stay at the Hard Rock unless you enjoy driving around hammered.

The problem is, even if you get the dirt cheap $69 nightly rate - the taxi rides kill the deal and thats assuming they charge you properly.   

The Taxi cab crooks/liars even tried fuck me with an Android phone in my hand on google maps. I told the jagoff I was using my phone to plot the best route - sure as shit that dick took the long way. The next ass took us down the busiest street in town to let his meter ride up while we procede to go nowhere.

So IMHO you should stick with what you know.

Option (1) Fuck the Hard Rock and the crooked Cabs stay on the strip. (Visit Rehab etc to party and bounce.)

kelly is right why i would never stay at palms too, go there for pool parties and leave, staying there will more than make up for the discounted rates in the stupid cab rides everywhere

if your young and single its good times. make sure you go with friends makes it better
