    Hey everyone,

I'm just looking for some advice, some tips, some things we HAVE to do to have a good time. I enjoy gambling...mostly poker, blackjack, and betting on a few sporting events. As for the other guys, I don't know if they take their gambling as seriously as I do, but I'm still curious to hear what Vegas has to offer. And we're all into drinking, partying, eating, and women, so all advice is appreciated.

    Here are a few details...
    -It's a bachelor party
-Staying in early May (thurs-monday afternoon)
-There's gonna be about 8-12 of us going

Thanks in advance for you input!

MWC:  Just curious, looks like it was published in 2005 - do they add to it and have a different version each year, or is it all pretty good, even though 4 years old now?  Thanks

    woody-

    It's still really good.

It doesn't just give you specific places to go and things to do...it's a great reference on how to do it in Vegas with a group of guys.  That's the most important part.  Believe me, I had made several trips to Vegas with just guys over the years, and this book points out a lot of the mistakes we made and how it could have been better.

    Thanks MWC

Just curious...how much of a cut do you get from it's sales?
     jk

I've been trying to read up on some of the previous forums on trips to Vegas, but I figured I'd start my own and see what kind of response I get.

I've joked before that these guys (the authors) should be giving me a cut.  The thing of it is, I have a ton of Vegas related books, and that one is hands down the best.

go to the pool party's at hard rock on sunday, ditch friday at the palms, go to tao(venetian), tryst (wynn) and/or body english (hard rock), get bottle service or you will never get in with a group of guys, the price sounds outrageous for a bottle of liqour and it is but its actually well worth it considering you get a waitress to wait on you hand and foot, a table you can bring chicks back to, and dont have to wait in line for drinks or pay 10 bux a drink.

10 guys get two bottles, 5 guys a bottle just over 100 a guy which gets you right in to the club (no waiting in line) which is priceless and it covers your cover charge.  sadly its actually a deal even though 400-700 for a bottle seems crazy. it will include mixers too.

otherwise you will spend half your trip waiting in lines and that is no fun for anyone especially the dude getting married

sportsbook go to the bellagio you should get some late night baseball action and you can go there bet on some games and get some free drinks before you head out for the night so you feel fine before the night starts

Luvofmoney- Thanks for the advice, a buddy that's going with us, was actually down there this last week. He goes pretty often, and was going to try and get us a limo, and bottle service at some club. Possibly The Ghostbar? He said he could get a great deal, or close to free...but after what you tell me, I'm guessing they won't just shell out bottles of booze for free!?!?

I'm def looking forward to hitting the books on baseball that weekend!

The Tao huh? We're just trying to get a few ideas for now, but any connections would greatly be appreciated. Please, let me know!

I'm curious...and alittle nervous...what the hell should I be wearing in Vegas in mid May??? I'm from Minnesota where we get all types of weather...and I'm not the most trendiest kind of guy. I like to wear sweatshirts or long sleeve polos with jeans in the cooler months, and t-shirts and shorts in the summer.

I'm just going to assume these clubs have pretty strict dress codes?! And advice on what to wear?!

bathing suits during the day and shorts and t shirts even though you may freeze your ass off in a sports book

to a decent club you can get by with jeans and a collar shirt but at a place like tao or tryst you better have a sport coat (you can put it over a t-shirt) or a button up collared shirt

they wont let you in without it and my guy wont care who you are, you wont get in

go shopping before if you need, looking like a hobo from minny will get you nowhere but bounced out clubs if you ever get in, just being honest

I think I plan on wearing shorts and t-shirts all day. Then if we go to some club, I'll have a spare pair of dress pants and a decent shirt for the night back at the room. I don't plan on "clubbing it up" as much as some in the group might want. But I have no problem going off on my own either. I'm sure we'll all be gathering to celebrate the occasion so I'd like to not be the slob in the group.

I plan on going shopping alittle bit for the trip...and I wish I could pull of the Ace Rothstein look while I'm there, but I am not a trendy guy. I'm a tall guy and stick out like a sore thumb.

How's the weather in mid May? You said pretty warm huh?

    Gimme,

Make sure you keep your plans loose......you're gonna have guys all over the place so don't count on anybody for sure.  Maybe line up a round of golf and a steak dinner and that's it.......too much itinerary for Vegas is no good.  Combine those two with a cabana at the pool and make everything optional for people and you have a good recipe.

Bring plenty of sunscreen and a bottle of multi-vitamins....make sure you're popping vitamins late night along with plenty of water/gatorade.

Also, during the day for breakfast and lunch, try to slip in some salads or fruit etc.......stuff to give your body a chance.

If you're gonna be drinking all day and getting little sleep, at least try and give your body a chance by eating somewhat healthy foods.

Also, try and get a lot of rest two weeks prior to the trip if you can.  Just my take on a Vegas bachelor party survival!

Hey all, looks like we're putting the final touches on our bachelor party!

What does everyone think of the Excalibur?!?!

I've read alot of reviews, and from what most say, it's kind of a dump...we can get 4 nights (on the weekend) for like 330. We will only be using the room to clean up/shower, and sleep. I heard they were renovating.

Any suggestions for the locals? Or someone that's familiar with the place?
