Don't be fooled by all the hype. It is expensive to live there and jobs are not plentiful. Runners? Please, that's a pipe dream. You need at least $4,000 to get started with, and that's for basics. Jobs are minimum wage and the dreams of being a dealer are just that. You go to school, and get hired by old town casinos first usually and move up after 3 or 4 years. Minimum wage plus tips (low tips) until you finally get to the strip. Even then it is who you know. I lived there for about 18 months and if I didn't have funds saved it would have been a disaster. Live in Summerlin or Green Valley. The places around the strip are old (by the week and month) and that's a whole another story.
Vegas can have its moments, but realistically, it is a town that will grab your privates and make you wince. It can bring out the worst in you. Save, save, and save, and go out for a month. If you think you are going to live on betting profits, good luck. You will need it. You need to manage your money there. Also, be aware of the gang situation there. It isn't pleasant. Good luck if you decide to move there, but just be aware that the advertising says 6,000 people a week move there, but they never say how many leave in the same week.

Sounds like this town kicked your ass pal.
Dont listen to much of what this guy said. No offense but i was going to type just about everything opposite of what you did. If you have good work ethic (aka an east coast work ethic) then you will do well out here. You will move up quickly. There are plenty of jobs out here still. You can buy a 3 br house in a great neighborhood still for under $180K. Sting , may I ask where you moved from when you came to Vegas? Just wondering. Young One...I still need to get back to you in an e-mail. I will hit you up soon.
