Really thinking about booking a trip to Vegas for the first weekend of the tournament. I would fly out Wednesday March 17th and come back the following Tuesday March 23rd.
Now, I haven't made the trip since before my 19 yr old daughter was born. I used to get comp rooms and food, really anything I wanted at non other than the Dunes. That dates me doesn't it. And went to the Stardust sportsbook for sports wagering.
So now I am going alone and want a good sportsbook with private monitors as well and where they will take at least a couple dimes on NCAA Tourney games but don't want to get raped on the room because I'll be at the book while open and poker tables the rest of the time. I hate dives though. I want to go back to a clean room to shower and sleep some.
Can anyone share a plan? Thanks in advance.

if money isnt a huge issue, I would choose the mandalay for what u are looking for ...nice seats, individual tvs, poker room right next to the book...and plenty of food options close by...that, and you can get a nice room in at that hotel for sure.
just my opinion

I just wanted to chime in with props to The STARDUST. That book was GREAT. I also thought the hotel was decent and would have blown up a number of others prior to The Stardust.
Does anyone else remember the "library' they used to have next to the book? Miss that place....

Frank, exactly. I used to stay at the Dunes, walk across the street to a dunky book and casino they catch a cab to the Stardust and stay at their book until close. Those were the good old days.

Enjoy. Id just stay out of the MGM, Bellagio, NY NY, and a couple others whose books are gonnna be packed, Mandalay or M should be good. I rocked the Orleans last year you cant really go wrong with a Coast casino nice and cheap rooms and a decent book to watch the games assuming you want to save money for gambling.
Youll have too be on your A game to get a private TV for the tourney, not many places have them to begin with so I wouldnt bank my trip on getting that.
Im staying home this year and betting with my bookie, you need to much cash in hand to lump down 500 or a g on every game you like for my boots.
ENJOY YOUR TRIP!!!
