Las Vegas Ski Resort

Thinking about heading out to Vegas this weekend. I saw the Las Vegas Ski Resort is opening shuttle buses starting monday. Anyone been to the resort? I have never been sking or snow boarding. A 45 minute bus ride doesn't seem to bad. It looks like a $100 bucks will take care of the bus, ski lift fees, and gear. Should I wear a helmet?

45 minute ride. the resort is like 7,000 feet above sea level.

No joke.  Nice to get away in Summer and hike.  Nice and cool.  Snow in winter.  Mountains been getting a lot of snow.

There will be alot of snow by monday.  Raining here in the valley....

10 inches of new powder this morning.  Very small ski area.  Good for beginners.  Still fun though.

Mt Charleston is great.....less than an hour from the center of the strip you can be in pine forests at elevation. It's a great getaway in the summer or winter. I love it up there   Watch your speed coming down the mountain......the police certainly do

I was having a nice run at the tables so i stayed up late and didnt even attempt to get on the 9 am shuttle. Maybe next time. weather is perfect out here right now.
