Opinions of the Hilton?

Question

I just scheduled the next trip to Vegas for some hardcore baseball betting....Im booked at HIlton...&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;I know it has the mecca of sportsbooks in there..but besides that..any stay there before? ANy thoughts on any of the restaurants or anything else?

stayed there once way back....&#xD;&#xA;Yes there book is nice - and if you plan on playing a bunch of games its great - fair lines - posted early - tons of props - ect...&#xD;&#xA;As for the rest of the place - you will like you are stuck in 1976!!&#xD;&#xA;Did not even bother eating there - too many great places to waste my time...  &#xD;&#xA;Lay your bets and go for a walk - it would be a waste of a vegas trip to spend it all there... &#xD;&#xA;IMO...

Never stayed there. Only visited it once.

But if you are planning some hardcore baseball betting then you will be fine. It's a great book.

If you don't find the hotel to fill your other needs I'd recommend getting a pass for the monorail. There's a stop right at the Hilton and will take you all the way down to MGM. Then you could get the best of the strip as well.

The centerpiece of that hotel is the book. Coffee shop is 1976 &#xD;&#xA;rooms are nice though so just bet your games and head down the strip

Only book I know that has Black Jack tables in the Sportsbook &#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;This is where I stay virtually every time out....All VIP when I am out there with a casino host.....They have a couple of good restaraunts, but nothing fancy or out of the ordinary.....Benihana&#x27;s is there and they have a good little steak house called TJ&#x27;s...All over priced, but good nonetheless.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;If you like steak I would suggest going to Del Friscos right there on Paradise Road. It&#x27;s a few blocks from the hotel and the place is awesome. Better than Ruth Chris and Morton&#x27;s in my opinion.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;And my all time favorite place for a good sandwhich is Capriotti&#x27;s out there. Well worth going there.

Right across from the poker room too.  Nice comfy leather recliner chairs in the SB too

I just got back from staying at the Hilton, and they definitely do NOT have BJ tables in the sportsbook, which was a disappointment, however they do have an awesome book. First time was definitely fun!

To "experience" Vegas, you need never step foot in a Hilton hotel built sometime in the early 70's. With all the fantastic properties they offer there (which you can't experience anywhere in the world) it seems silly to spend your time at a mundane property (that could be found anywhere else in America) in a lousy location.

The place is unexceptional in the extreme. The only thing it has going for it is the Hilton brand name. Once you've experienced any of the quality hotels on the strip you won't have the slightest interest in spending your precious leisure time at a glorified Ramada Inn.

My prediction is the place will either be torn down and a new vastly superior Hilton property will be erected at a much better location or it will go thru a major renovation/upgrade within the next few years. As they say, "It's a dinosaur".
