Parking at Vegas casinos

I heard a rumor that the Vegas Strip Casinos are going to start to charge for parking in their parking structures.  Wow, it's just getting worse and worse isn't it?

Just MGM properties. But others are watching how this plays out and it's more than likely a domino effect like resort fees.  

Vegas is changing big time for sure.  Less and less people are gambling and only going to Vegas for the shows, restaurants and just the experience itself.  They aren't getting enough money out of people pockets these days so they need to find other ways to do so.

I go to Vegas a couple times a year and I can't remember the last time I visited the strip.  If you're visiting Vegas to mainly gamble, the strip is no longer a place for you.

Westgate just started charging for parking when there is an "event" at the convention center BUT you can get the ticket validated in the casino or sportsbook IF you are  a player. when the Mrs and I went there after they had just started it a couple weeks ago, locals were PIZZED even though it IS FREE for players with the validation

agree with j-walk. the strip just NOT the place to gamble esp IF you are a machine player. "cheap cheese" payouts and "tight" machines compared to "locals" casinos

I have been the strong voice against this so called "Vegas" and its negative practices ever since the beginning of my journey on the site; same is true in real life, prehaps even stronger and longer in real life. 

"Vegas" is owned by deceiving lying swindlers who care nothing about an average Joe walking around drunk in the casino. Well, I'd say that average Joe is a moron too. 

The term "Let's go to Vegas" is the lamest term I have heard across this great nation of ours. This excitement of theirs too will change as soon as they step foot on the filthy bum filled sidewalks of "Vegas". 

Don't go to "Vegas" unless you have a solid concrete plan to make a lot of money from these smoke-filled junked out casinos!

Yes you are quite the Vegas crybaby.  You remind me of the guy at the party sitting in the corner with his arms crossed while everyone is having fun.  I like most everyone, have a blast every time I visit Vegas and can't wait to go back when I get home.

So Im not sure what your point is when you make these comments as most everyone here disagrees with you.  Are you simply trying to ruin everyones fun and stop us from visiting there anymore?

You can say whatever you want. You call it whatever you want. I want the moronic public to know the truth about real "Vegas" so they can avoid being swindled by these decievers. 

I speak the truth in every single one of my "Vegas" threads and posts. Lastly, I want to say that people are better off going to the real places than the "Vegas themed" hotels. Go to the real place. You will save more money and have more fun.

Yeah, I can easily see this becoming a "thing" now in Vegas.  I usually rent a car when I am Vegas because I will like to visit a few poker rooms in a day, so I am usually darting around Vegas.  I will no longer be able to do this if I have to pay for parking wherever I go.

I suggest you watch last week's Frontline.  The DOJ is going to start cracking down on online sports betting again.

There's a saying that goes "a sucker is born every minute". Well, I guess there will always be morons parading around "Vegas" everyday. Most morons need to be enlightened and awaken. If I can make sense to one person about worthless crap-filled "Vegas" environment, then I did my job. 

I will always have a great deal of hatred for "Vegas". I look at morons with big mouths and drinks parading around the casino with chain smoking they drop on the floor; and my hatred grows for "Vegas" even more. Now you can certainly clap 5 times for my post here!

I also heard that "Vegas" with start charging to put a pair of thumbs in your gluteus medius. 

You also have to be a casino member with monthly Buffett holder card. All other with be charged with slot machine tokens!

whole new meaning to the term nickle and diming ya. colnsidering likley 90% of the ppl parking there park to spend money inside this seems cheesy as hell, but at 5$ a car they would rake loot im sure. city is way overhyped anyways

If you stay at that those properties, they are still charging??

'Every' Hotel/Casino (on or off the Strip) does not charge a parking fee to their guest staying at that location. However, there is a Valet charge (a $5 palm) for those coming by car to see a designated show, and are not a guest of the Hotel...the majority of these patrons are 'locals' having a night on the strip.

 South Point & Westgate (just to name two of many) have the most convenient, and free parking attached to those strictly there for the SportsBook,

Unfortunately this is fully confirmed and going to happen.  MGM has already had to issue statements justifying this because of the big backlash on social media.

[/Quote] Appreciate the link, it speaks clearly on the issue on behalf of MGM prop, This does not effect what avenue the remaing Owners act upon, I doubt seriously that anyone will go that route, I mean I couldn't even imagine Steve Wynn charging a parking fee at Wynn Resorts; this is on  MGM prop using an innovated parking scheme to generate additional income...nothing more than 'greed' by corporate America; involded in the gaming industry. by MGM's standards, it's not much, they're looking at making Appx 12m for all their properties; besides, it really means very little, nor is it an inconvenience to the guest; think about it, I would say (MGM included) 95% of the people flying into LV do not rent cars at the airport, they take cabs to there Hotel, nobody rents cars in Vega (unless you're bling or going to Pahrump Nv you think they even think about paid parking? like you said, "it's a social media" thing.

Wrong again.  Here is the owner of TI talking about how he would adopt pay for parking if other casinos do it.  With MGM, you got over half the properties on the strip charging for parking and you don't think others won't follow suite?

bling, what? are you advocating a case, wrong about what? I replied to a response in my direction, actually you're wrong, there is no paid parking on the strip other than MGM prop, meaning as you stated, "that's half the strip" correct. but making assumptions as to what's happening as of today, doesn't cut the grain. oh, and btw, I heard about all this 6 months ago. read "gaming today" and educate yourself. I am here...where are you? take care, no need for you to talk trash..nobody called you out
