cashed 291.40 left the silver, a barely audible ,"thank u"
Ive worked in Vegas casinos for the last 10 years and I can tell you that the sports book ticket writers, for the most part, are the most miserable people in the world. terrible attitudes and most dont deserve a tip. (Yes of course there are always exceptions.)

Hey whats going on guys, just a little story. I work in a sports book here in Las Vegas. I enjoy my job very much, but I honestly make minimum wage. I appreciate all tips big or small, but I mostly appreciate a "GOOD ATTITUDE" when you come to my window. I cannot speak for all ticket writers, but keep this in mind. I write about an average of 200-300 tickets a day. Most of them are from people who understand the betting order and know the terms for a proper ticket. On the other hand I have a lot of newbies, drunks, and ignorant people who come to my window and speak non sense to me. I have to sort this miscommunication out in my head and give them the ticket they're asking for. I have numerous bettors try to blame me for their mistakes. We are all human and we make mistakes on both sides. I have customers that believe that I am the person who controls the spread lines. I also have customers who believe I want them to lose. HEADLINE: all sports writers want the public to win because that is the only chance we have to make some sort of money. I make around 20K a "YEAR" and I am personally responsible of handling cash for about 50K a day. I know I could find another job(which I have but cant work because this sports book has to much turnover for writers) but all I am saying is just come to the window and be cordial and nice. I just don't want to deal with BULLSHIT.

From a fellow (former) sportsbook writer..... well said. There were days that i felt like crap after work from the abuse a writer can take on a busy day working both sides (race and sports). I considered myself a fast and accurate writer and still was made to feel stupid on many occasions. People just be civil please.

When cashing a winning ticket, if the same writer is their that punched your ticket in the first place, throw em' some change, karma does wonders when it comes to gambling, isn't customary to tip the Blackjack dealer when leaving the table a winner?

20 cents isn't a tip. If you leave an empty soda can, do you expect the guy to applaud you for the 5 cent recycle value?? You were basically mocking them and I think you know that.

"throw em' some change" is a figure of speech, (meaning, grease their palm, or in your lame world of LV comprehension. give them a tip!) what city/country did you evolve from? your commentary speaks for itself....
