Anyone recommend staying here?  I know its at end of strip... Cheap and topless pool.  Or should I not stay there?  Decisions Decisions...

You&#x27;re right at the Northend and you&#x27;re smack dab in the middle of the Naked City. The topless pool open in Feb? You&#x27;re on a bus line and there are always taxis but its a loong walk to much of anything else casino-wise. Cheap is good and Strato has most everything you need. Can&#x27;t say I ate there. GL

Please take what im about to say seriously. Do not stay there. Its not safe around there and is a complete dump.

If your priority is price of a room consider Imperial Palace, Harrahs, Tropicana(newer rooms) Excalibur and maybe even the luxor or NY-NY.

kind of agree,,area is safe enough during the day and you can busy yourself at nite with things to do at the hotel - great rates can sometime be enough to make the final call--enjoy vegas wherever you may land

Yes you make get a good rate at Strat but you will waste time and money on cabs and buses to get to the strip. You can easily waste $30 round trip in cabfare. Better off mid-strip at Imperial Palace or Harrahs. Would rather stay at Hooters because its at the corner with MGM, NYNY, etc. If you dont need the strip atmosphere then go down to Freemont Street, cheap hotels and some fun places to hang out.

Its not a bad place to stay, the rooms are kept in tip top shape and they are extremely cheap compared to most places downtown or strip.

Area is safe as far as Im concerned.

On another note, I am one of those people who only use the hotel room for sleep, bathrooms and showers, As Im out and about while Im in Vegas, so luxury is fine and dandy if you really will use the jacuzzi tubs and all that other crap, for me its just a place to rest up and get ready. I mean why would I always stay at the Rio when my comps allow me to use paris or ceasers?

The Strat has very comfortable beds. I stayed there at times when I first started visiting Vegas. The problem I have with it is that the casino smells like smoke and it seems to have no ventilation.

If you rent a car the parking garage is easy to access.

pass on the strat, IP or Harrahs center strip is a better option even the flamingo hilton.

Good point.OP, those locations should be priced around the same or cheaper, and provide you with a better location in relation to the strip.

Shit, wish I would have read this before booking! I'll be staying there for 6 nights. Not looking forward to the distance from the action, but I'll live. Just cab it over to the Venetian and spend my days there and surrounding area.

Is the area really not safe? Kinda scares me...?

I'm also going in early April. I'm assuming the pools will be open.

It&#x27;s an area you wont want to explore once the sun goes down. Just leave from the front door, enter from it, and stay on the strip. You should have no problem getting a cab and you can always take the bus.

I use to live across the Blvd from the strato from Dec-June. I use to walk from there up to the Mirage at night 12am-2am cashing bets.You are walking LasVegasBlvd and it is the safest streach in LV because the Metro don&#x27;t let any hookers or muggers scare the tourists. I use to hear shotguns at night but that was more remote Naked City not anywhere near the Blvd. No need to doubt your booking. I use to live in a place called SueLinda by Gaslight. Crack person don&#x27;t mug anybody.

There is nothing wrong with Stratosphere, you get what you paid for, if you go up to the top they have a nice place to eat and a couple of rides that are fun at night. Just don&#x27;t wonder off the strip and you will be fine, you should have a rental anyways.

Agree with others. Stay away.  Bad part of town.  Run down. Not close to anything.  There are topless pools at alot of other hotels.

stayed at the Strat for march madness, the location did suck. But the theater room was set up with 8 giant screens, nice spead of cheap food, breakfast and lunch and comp drinks like water if you were betting. Also had 5 dollar pitchers of bud and bud light. If I was going alone would stay there again, but old lady got tired of the location.

If you want to go cheap, go IP.  Better location, not nearly as bad as everyone says, no resort fees.  Rooms are fine for sleeping, blazing up, and storing your luggage, which is all you need from your hotel on a Vegas trip...  The only exception would be if you are trying to impress a date (even then, if she&#x27;s sketched out by a center-strip hotel room, she&#x27;s too much of a goody-two-shoes to bother with, anyway...)

Went on a pot hunting trip and wound up in that really nice neighborhood behind the Strat. F'n scary indeed. I must say that I was treated well but I must have been lucky. Just as the deal was finished and I was on my way a cab drove by, came to a skidding stop, opened the passenger door and told me to get in. After fessing up as to what I was doing there the cab driver politely chastised me for being in that hood and strongly advised that I avoid the area at all costs in the future.

But like I said, I was treated well by the fine businessmen in that area.

This place is safe. I have stayed there for my last 3-4 visits. It is a long way down the strip, so if you don't like walking don't stay there. You also have to pay the resort fees when you show up. These fees are for the gym, pool, etc, and I think it's like 10 a day.

They have poker tourneys there all the tim. I like playing poker there, but there many locals that play and these guys have a lot of experience.
