Traveling to Vegas alone?

Im looking to take a trip to Vegas sometime soon..I make decent money, the problem is, most of my buddies I hang out with dont, and do not have the money to go to Vegas....anyone have any experiences or thoughts on traveling alone for a couple days to gamble and drink it up?

You can go by yourself.  When my wife and I go out, I'm usually flying solo.  She likes the pool, shopping, and the dining out.  You'll make friends at the tables and at the sports books.  People aren't judging you.  They're there to have fun and try to win some money.

I went by myself in December due to the same reasons. I'm a degenerate and need to go there a couple times a year and my buddies can only afford maybe one visit a year. It was ok. The good thing was you could do whatever the fuck you want when you want. You could go wherever and stay however long you wanted. It's great calling all the shots. I had 1 night where I was a little down and felt like shit for being there by myself. Overall, it was ok and I'd do it again if I had to. I prefer sharing the experience with others but doing it alone was much better than not going there at all.

Lots of places to go in vegas to just hang and since you are a sports fan, plenty of action that is not too costly. What do you like to do? clubs? shows? etc etc

PS  march madness always rocks in vegas

I have done buddy trips and solo trips...and am headed out there Sunday on another solo trip (also at IP...like everyone said great location and cheap).  There are pros and cons to each that has already been laid out...I say try it and see if you enjoy it...everyone handles being with themselves a little differently.

MGM Grand is a great place to go solo, and it all depends what u are looking for.  U can kill a day easily in Vegas by playing table games, poker, working out, the pool, not to mention the sportsbook.  I like to play in a poker tourney at MGM, not as serious, while watching my sports bets.  The MGM is also nice because u can eat at the Bar at Wolfgang's, Craftsteak, and Emeril's!!!!!  You will like it if you are cool with being by yourself, I have friends that can't do it.  A lot of times my friends will come out for three nights, and I will stay an extra two or something like that!!!!   Good Luck

IP is the famous Imperial Palce!!!!  It is in a great location, has a sports book that has been around forever, is a dump, but is very cheap!!!!!  Pay a little extra and stay at the Mirage!!!!!

Have you made your trip plans yet Walter?  Myself and another Lebowski fan will be at the MGM for the first round of the NCAA's.  Would be interested in knowing if you've got a regular/favorite host... we'll both be playing lots of sports and blackjack, would be nice to get our suites comped.

Yep, done that a few times too...Usually stay at Harrahs, but have shacked up next door at IP as well, albeit cheap, but a bit skanky...Nothing like walking the strip, visiting dozens of sportsbooks all day witha  few  in hand!!!

Man i've been out to vegas several times alone.
i got a buddy thats always in and out of jail out there, so this one time i went to go visit him to see if he was ready to get his shit together.
 
I spent about 3 days at the mirage, met some girls that were on a trip out there together. i had alot of fun. I think a trip to vegas is always better if u go with a group of people though. thats my opinion.
 
All depends on the type of person you are. if you are shy anti social, then i dunno.
but if  you arent afraid to talk to anyone then you'll still have fun.
i love going to vegas and i have the money to go whenever i want, problem is none of my friends do. so i feel you on that
