vegas noobie .. a few questions ! thanks fellas

Question

Guys, I am heading down with my best friend sept 7th, sunday ... aka opening nfl sunday. Unfortunately I will be getting there around 130 pm so I can only bet the 4 pm , snf and mnf games.

My first question ... I am staying at harrahs .. is there some way I can view their current sportsbook lines?

2nd question .. I really wanted to bet the Carolina panthers over total wins for season. Like I said if I get there at like 330 pm , after the 1 pm games started, will this line still be available you think? do you think I can call harrahs and ask?

The total wins for the season lines will be gone once the first NFL game kicks off the Thursday before you arrive. Also, if you arrive at 1:30pm local time in Vegas, you will miss the afternoon games as well. By the time you get your luggage and find a shuttle, you will most likely miss the halftime line also. You will be there by the SNF and MLB night game.

fellas I meant to say my flight lands 1140 am so that&#x27;s 240 pm .. I figure I will be hotel after a taxi from airport by 4ish lleaving me time to bet the 425 pm games

You should be fine then.  Keep in mind, luggage takes a long time to get to the carrousel in Vegas, usually 30 min after you leave the plane minimum until luggage starts appearing on your assigned carrousel.  Sorry, no way to get around to total wins for the season thing.  Try calling the sportsbook you are going to and see if they will work something out.

This was bugging me as I was pretty sure I bet the totals on a couple teams last year AFTER the Thurs. opener...At The Rio.

Called them tonight as was told the bet shuts down by individual teams so it looks like you're good to go for the late games and the dual MNF teams...If it's available at the Rio that means all the Caesars props.So Harrah's there you go.

So it looks like you have 10 teams left including Carolina @ 1:25 Vegastime.But get on Pacific time ASAP in your head or you might miss some plays..Day baseball.Horses,Parx race 1 is at 9:25 AM...Have a good trip man

james is right. the team totals will stay posted, and you can bet on them, until each individual team kicks off. the only two teams that will go off the board on Thurs. are the two teams that play on Thurs. Sorry u are arrive late, but BOL to you!

Thanks so much fellas. I&#x27;m hoping to throw atleast 3 grand on a total. hope they allow large wagers on them since they are prop bets

3000 should be fine. They are used to getting 10 - 25 grand bets on those type of props which are very popular with the big betters. But even if you do run into a limit, keep in mind it is not a per person limit but a per ticket limit. So you can just bet more then one ticket. However, keep in mind, they reserve the right to move the line (and most likely will unfavorably) between each bet at the limit.

I heard a couple years ago that they end it at the season start because they were afraid that you could get an edge on some teams by seeing how some other teams played before their season starts.  I guess that was a bunch of bull hoowy

For example, if the Seahawks get absolutely destroyed by the Packers you may think that this year will be a Superbowl hangover for the Seahawks meaning that San Fransisco has a good chance at beating them twice, causing a better to put more on the SF team total wins for the season.

I can&#x27;t find it and wanted to call in advance to double check on the team win prop bets. someone told me harrahs mgm ceasars all use the same lines

The Rio operator told me the same thing-but said she could call the book herself..I explaned the situtaion of the bet type and she understood I was asking about NFL total wins/losses.She put me on hold and and it took just a minute--said the book told her the bet shuts down by individual teams.

I'll be at the Rio Sept 2 (As long as work does not get anymore f'd up as it is) and will post here that night or next day after confirming myself with a ticket writer.
