What's up everyone! I am looking to take a trip to vegas in a few months
and I want your opinion on where to go and what are the best
sportsbooks there.
This is going to be my first time there and I
only wager on sportsbooks (no blackjack, craps, and all that). The
average of my wagers would be $500-$1000 . Now , from your experience
what are hotels/casinos/sportsbooks that you recommend meaning a nice
setting, sportsbooks will take my bets, etc.
Also is there a
danger of me getting mugged while I carry my money to my room or car?
Ridiculous question I know but i've always wondered that since I have
never been there.
Thank you! Hope a lot of people reply with their experiences and pros and cons about vegas sportsbooks/hotels/casinos.
P.S. btw bets may go up to $5000 depending my winnings

Disagree....although the old Hilton, now Westgate, is a solid book, I would, based upon your nerves, use a book on the Strip...in the center of the Strip....Grand, Caesars, Bellagio, etc.

Wouldn't worry about getting mugged unless u end up in an alley with a 500 an hour companion. Most of Vegas is so lit up and busy getting mugged is kinda hard being pick pocketed is different though carry that money in front pocket. 500-1000 is not a big bet in Vegas so all of them.will gladly take your action 1000 bet may even get u free drink fix. Good luck my friend and stay away from the alleys

I've been two Vegas twice this year to visit lots of sportsbooks on the strip. Here's my feedback. First, you have to know what's most important to you from these 3 factors.
1. Viewing experience
Recently renovated or 5 star casinos tend to have huge high definition screens. Ex. Venetian, Cosmopolitan, Aria. Bad thing about these are my next priority.
2. Seating experience
I noticed lots of casinos with recently built HD screens (mentioned above) have poor or mediocre seats. Instead of couch like seats, they have wheeled office chairs, better than Staples quality of course.
I found 3-4 starred older casinos with poorer/older screens have much comfortable seatings though, such as Flamingo, Planet Hollywood (comfortable but dark and noisy), Caesar's.
3. ODDS
This was not my priority so I can't answer this. I know there are people who don't care about both 1 and 2 who consider payout very important. I can't help you much. As long as I won to make more money, I was pretty much satisfied.
DRINKS
For those who likes to drink, Westgate still don't have drink ticket policy, unlike other sportsbooks where you have politely ask to the ticket writer to get 1 or more drink tickets. They have a room with non-smoking policy plus AUDIO (SOUND), where it's brighter than other parts of the sportsbook where it's dark. This room might be usually filled with soccer bettors though.

will agree with ndsent1 and The Hawk about the Westgate (former Hilton) Superbook for betting BUT have heard from numerous people I met at the Superbook that were staying @ the Westgate that the rooms are pretty shabby compared to Strip standards. BEST place to book BUT might want to check other accommodations close by
a good alternative IF you don't care about seeing the sights on the strip would be the South Point south of town. excellent sportsbook which is a local favorite for watching games. check https://www.southpointcasino.com/ for their room rates. Mrs and I go there a lot and their coffee shop, buffet, Mexican and Italian restaurants are all excellent. get tired of hanging at the sportsbook they have one of the best multiplex cinemas in Las Vegas

LRR the Westgate Hotel &Casino, including the sportsbook has been completely renovated, Jay Kornegay is still the Director of Operations (if that tells you anything), a top notch Superbook, connected to a four star hotel, and one of the best breakfast buffet's in vegas; was their last weekend, and was highly impressed with the renovation concept
