Vegas Trip 1/31 - 2/4

Heading out to Vegas for the Super Bowl. Anyone else going to be out there?

Never been out for the super bowl before. I imagine that it gets pretty crazy. Staying at Mandalay Bay for the first time. Anxious to see if they treat me as well as MGM Grand.

Actually will be there in April too. Taking my wife out fcor a short weekend to see Bon Jovi on 4/12. I only hope to make enough to pay for her shopping!

Guess I'm the only covers brother going to Vegas for the SB....

I'll be there Friday - Tuesday myself.

Last year, I was there the weekend before and there was quite a buzz in the air. It will be interesting to compare how busy it is on SB weekend versus the weekend before and the weekend after.

We're there for the 3rd year in a row. Only tip is to place all your bets on Saturday - lineups at the Sportsbooks is just dumb on Sunday.

I'm staying at Mandalay Bay this trip. Prior to this trip, I've always stayed at MGM. Got invited to go with friends this time and they had already booked at Mandalay. I was able to get my host at MGM to hook me up with a host at Mandalay and he made all the arrangements for me. Was able to get my friends reservation upgraded to a suite and put in my name on a comp basis. Hoping to get out of there with just the cost of gambling.

 

Though he's been gone over 20 years now, Caesar's was my grandfather's favorite casino in Vegas. I always make it a point to play some blackjack there. I swear that it feels like he's sitting next to me. Maybe we'll run into each other.

Just keep in mind that it's cool during the day and cold at night.  No pool time....

Great place for the Super bowl!!! Crazy in the books on Sunday Morning, dont get caught looking @ the scenery!!!!!

If you are a regular at any of the casinos and can get it, I highly recommend trying to reserve a table at any of the sportsbooks. It is the best way to watch the game. My bother was able to hook one up at the Hooter's casino and said it was great.

fish,  i will be there also. UFC this weekend also bro.  gone the last 5 years and it is always a blast.  should be funny watching east coasters going at eachother all weekend.  which way you guys leaning.  get picks on saturday or early sunday.  GLA

I went out with 3k cash an ATM card and two credit cards. Went through the cash on the first night at Mandalay like Grant took Richmond so I went to the window and banged card number 1 for 2k and they wouldn't reimburse the fee, but got the cash anyway. Grinded that back up to 5k and I was back to even. Got back to the room at about 7am on Friday. Only slept for a few hours because the dry air messed up my throat and sinuses. Think I only had a total of 6 hours sleep for the 4 days we were there. On Friday, I couldn't catch a cold. I'd get 19, the dealer would have 20. I'd get 20 and the dealer would get 21. After giving back 3k, I went to the craps table with a friend and quickly donated another grand. Went to the room for a shower and caught a quick cat nap. The rest of Friday was win a hand, lose a hand. Tried for several hours to get some sleep but couldn't. Went back down to the casino with half of the remaining grand and left the other half in the safe. Blew that in about 10 minutes and was too lazy to go up and get the rest, so I banged the ATM card for 600. Lost that in 10 minutes too. This is when I discovered that the BUFFET SUCKED.

After eating at the Buffet that SUCKED, I walked around the hotel for a few hours, stopping occasionally for a beer which made my throat feel better. Finally I decided to bang card number 2 for 3k. At this point, I was in for 8,600. Found a $50 table with an Asian dude named Ronnie playing by himself. Before sitting down, I asked him if he wanted me to wait for the shoe to finish. He told me things couldn't get any worse and to sit down if I wanted. I laid down 1000 and got half green and half black and sat down at third base. On the first hand I bet 50 and both of us got blackjack and it was on! Long story short, I colored out for 6500. Had I not been gun shy from earlier in the day, it might have been 30k. Oh well, shit happens. Around this time, another friend was supposed to be arriving so I went up to the room to wait for him and he was already there. We both got cleaned up and headed over to MGM. I took 2k with me and left 5k in the safe along with the credit cards and ATM card. As I went to sit down at a $100 table, my friend said it was too rich for him so we found a $25 table that dealt with a shoe (I won't sit at a machine shuffle/deal) and proceeded to drop 800 in 5 minutes. Told my friend sorry, but I was outta there. We back over to $100 table area and walk around about three times. Then my friend out of the blue says, there's your table and points at it. I look and there's a hot blonde named Christi dealing, so I sit down at first base. There was one other guy playing and I again asked if he minded and he said have a seat but please wait for the shoe. He was playing two hands at a time and lost the first two after I sat down so he said go ahead. Got a grand in black and started playing.......

The night before, I got a call on my cell from my uncle, Tom. To my surprise, he was in Vegas too for the gun show. He had agreed to come over to MGM after dinner and got right after I sat down with Christi. I won my first three hands and it's time for Christi's break so here comes the dreaded dealer change. The new dealer is a very attractive gal from Puerto Rico named Minerva. I'm thinking to myself, this is going to suck, but Minerva was the bomb. She was dealing blackjacks and double down hands like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest. I didn't keep track, but I bet that in two shoes I tipped her close to 300 bucks. Christi came back from break and the hot cards kept on coming. Finally, the cards started going cold and I decided to color out. Though I had it slightly higher, I colored out for 7500. We decided to head back to Mandalay so we could suck down some cocktails, but had to stop at the cage to cash out since I wasn't sure if I would make it back. At the cage, they took they're sweet time to confirm that my one brown and two yellows were not stolen which pissed me off, but it was what it was. So I'm standing there waiting and I get a tap on the shoulder from my uncle who says, "guess who just walked by" and I respond with "what? a tranny" and he says no, Paris Hilton. Of all the times for her to walk by....to be continued.....
