What's Your Preference: Strip or Downtown??

I prefer the strip.


Just something about it. I like to be in the crowds. I like the hustle and bustle of the sidewalks. I don't mind the long walks. I like the "nicer" properties overall of the strip.

With that said, I do like to visit downtown one day per trip in the summer. Went there once in Dec and it was a hell hole. I like the better games downtown. I like the summer crowds. I like the "old feel" of Vegas but I'm not sure I'd be happy with a 3 or 4 night stay downtown.

What is everyone else's preference??

I like the strip.

Downtown is more hectic to deal with from the parking to other things. If I go there I rarely place a bet.  I still like it downtown, but thanks to the strip casinos, I am spoiled. Nothing like those fried twinkies.

I also love the strip.  I am defiently an old school type person but any new mega resorts especially on the strip gotta check them out.  Vegas to me is all about glamour.  Hopefully they get back to treating visitors the way they used to with crazy comps.

STRIP!!

Only been there once...stayed at TI on the strip. Spent one evening downtown and that was enough. You can visit everything you need to in a couple hours. They have great food specials, even though it's terrible for you. ex, fried twinkies, hot dogs, deep fried oreos.

The walking part on the strip gets old...especially when it's 100+ degrees. But it's rewarding to get to that next destination and chill in the lovely AC. It's fun to people watch too.

Agree on the Strip.

Was there a couple of weeks ago, and went downtown.  Something about it is a little depressing.  We went there for a few hours, and that was plenty.

 

There is a downtown??   haha    just kidding.....

STRIP all the way.

Downtown is cool to go slum it up for a few hours, but other than that it's for Old People and trailer trash

Downtown for me - big fan of the golden nugget , I find the rooms and property in general to be just as nice as strip locations - spa is first class and very peaceful - pay a few more bucks for the north tower upgrade or check out the brand new Rush tower, just opening and I would assume its quite nice as well - check it out, you will be glad you did --M Resort is deluxe as well for resort type living just a cab ride away from the action

As a local my new favorite place to play is the M Resort which is a few miles south of the Strip. It's brand new, they have free soda fountains, easy parking and really *talented* waitresses.

Definitely the strip, particularly between The Flamingo and the Wynn.

I broke in downtown in 1984,  I will always be a down-town guy,  hate the frekin strip,  i live in the southern highlands and now frequent the south pointe, M, GVR,  but my heart will always be down-town,  El Cortez, Binions, Golden Nugett, Fremont St before the frekin experience
